Joe Biden Pushes for Lawsuits Against AR-15 Makers and Other Firearm Manufacturers
Breitbart ^ | 06/26/2023 | AWR HAWKINS

President Joe Biden targeted makers of AR-15s and other firearms Democrats label “assault weapons,” calling on Sunday for the ability to file lawsuits against such manufacturers.

Biden used social media to broadcast his view:

Gun manufacturers have spent two decades aggressively marketing assault weapons that make them some of the biggest profits.

It’s time we ended gun manufacturers’ immunity from liability – we’ve got to hold them accountable.

— President Biden (@POTUS) June 25, 2023

RFK Jr. is a Democrat, and a Kennedy to boot. That's all I need to know about him. Personally, I wouldn't go looking to him to protect any constitutional rights, regardless of what he says in interviews.

Exactly, can't understand why anyone is dreamy about him, he's a Dem.

So what the Marxists in DC want is to repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act.

PROCON, perhaps ping-worthy?

When first introduced to the M-16 in the mid sixties, the firearms instructor made sure to convince us that we were looking at a weapon, and not a Mattel toy. I have often wondered how the image got changed to “A scary assault rifle”.
Your post kinda clears that up.

As much as I can’t stand the turnip this is just the Marxist agenda. Put these creeps in the Whitehouse and get the same crap every time. Social and racial division, radicalization of our schools, federal land grabs, fossil fuel demonization, environmental clampdowns, out of control spending and on and on. The agenda is paramount no matter who they put up.

Then let’s push for the same rule to apply to all manufacturer’s. Someone gets drunk and causes a car wreck, let’s sue GM or Ford as they should have known someone would do that. Someone attacks you with a hammer, then let’s sue Stanley tools. Damanged by a Covid vaxx then you can sue Pfizer. Let’s make all the attorneys multi millionaires!

They aren't immune from liability for their own actions that harm someone, just third party actions.

You mean that a politician would say something to try to get elected, and then not live up to his words after the election? Is such perfidy even possible?

We need to be very grateful that our founding fathers were so much more intelligent than our current congresspersons. What if they had written in the Constitution that “the right to bear muskets shall not be infringed.” The Second Amendment would be history now. They easily could have because the musket was the weapon of choice when the Constitution was penned. But they didn’t. They were to smart for that to happen. They used the word “arms.” Thanks to them we still have a Second Amendment 247 years later. Why do we need it now perhaps more than ever? Because our politicians continue to creep closer and closer to doing something that we will need to shoot them for.

Due to the 2nd amendment in the US Constitution Bill of Rights, the US Government has no standing to sue firearms manufacturers.
