In the last two weeks, SCOTUS ordered Alabama to flip one more seat to democrats and today they ordered Louisiana to flip one more seat to democrats to make it fair.

+2 Dem, -2 GOP and election isn't until next year.

Conservatives on the Supreme Court making up to the Left for their Dobbs ruling?

Tell the Supreme Court to pound sand. What’s their enforcement mechanism?

Maybe. I’m not familiar with the districting in those states at all, so I’m just speculating, but the math to me says that if you concentrate D votes into 2 of them instead of just one, the remaining districts will be more strongly R. In other words, less close races to flip.

Its not that simple. Red States will respond by shoving essentially every Black voter into one or two Black Majority districts. Since Blacks vote almost monolithically for Democrats, this then gives them one or two districts but makes a lot of other districts uncompetitive....ie ensuring Republicans in those other districts.

Carving out these districts does not magically create more Democrat voters. It just concentrates them more.

Isn’t it time for this crap to go away? The “legacy of slavery” and Jim Crow in the South disappeared when Republicans started dominating Southern politics. It was Democrats who suppressed black votes in the South. That legacy has been cleaned up.

The new order from the justices noted that their latest move “will allow the matter to proceed before the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit for review in the ordinary course and in advance of the 2024 congressional elections in Louisiana.”

This is the reason.

I’m so glad we have a 6-3 majority in the Supremes.

So, find some good, solid black conservative candidates to WIN those seats! It can be done!

But...

the people are speaking and taking matters into their own hands (and feet)....

when they decide to move away from the blue states and turn red aread redder, and giving those red areas more red districts and more electoral college votes.

Plus, let’s not forget that blacks are no longer voting exclusively for democrats, And let’s also not forget that Hispanics are also moving away from the democrat party.

Olse some, win some and more.

2020 Census, Louisiana Race and ethnicity (White alone 61.6%; Black alone 12.4%; Hispanic 18.7%).

🧐 Shouldn’t the Hispanics get one first?

What’s their enforcement mechanism?

Excellent question.

First question: What is the Constitutional grounds for the decsion?

+1

Shoving black voters into a single electoral district, in order to be sure to elect black candidates, will ensure the state's electoral votes go Republican.

The SCOTUS idea of constitutional left the actual Constitution behind years ago.

But then they’ll eventually be back with another SCOTUS challenge — and orders to make those majority districts just barely majority enough.

Meanwhile, we’ve got rigged vote counts anyway.

Blacks don't vote for black conservative candidates.

Yeah but right now 5 out of 6 districts are Republican.

So this will turn it into 4 out of 6. Sure those 4 will be stronger - but it is still a loss.

So let it be written, so let it be done. Shaboom!

The Supreme Tribunal has spoken.

I think less of the supreme court every single day.

Depends on how big that district is. Votes are votes and the most win. I would hope some day these Black folks wake up to these racist Democrats.
