Three thousand elite Chechen troops took up positions in Moscow early on Saturday morning to defend the Russian capital against advancing mutineers from the Wagner mercenary group, the Chechen state broadcaster "Grozny" said on Saturday night.
"The fighters have been at their positions in Moscow since early morning and are ready to carry out any order from Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces Vladimir Putin," it said on Telegram.
On Saturday afternoon, Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin agreed to call back his armed convoy approaching the capital with the aim of toppling the military leadership, under an agreement brokered by the president of Belarus.

The Wagners had about as much chance of overthrowing Putin as the Jan 6th ‘Insurrectionists’ had of overthrowing the US government.
And it was cute, once Putin activated the Chechens and sent them towards Rostov, this ‘Insurrection’ immediately emptied. Similar to when the Capitol Police told the Jan 6th ‘Insurrectionists’ to go home for dinner...and they did, and so the lethal threat to the US Government came to the end.

So why didn’t the Chechens and others take him out? They certainly had a chance to join-in and make the ‘Insurrection’ at least somewhat credible.
If the Wagner group were Christians, you'd have a point. But instead, it's two groups of secular mercenaries fighting each other.

The Chechens were also staged right outside of Rostov just waiting for the call to Dewagner Rostov. Prigojine turned around and escaped to Belarus right after that.

Given the history there it’s hard to believe the Chechens would defend Pooty.
Makes me think of the scene in Braveheart when Longshanks sent his Irish mercenaries onto the field to attack the Scottish “rebels.”
