the Trump campaign needs to be aware of an emerging thread of data that suggests that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis may do better in the general election.
New survey results from Public Opinion Strategies build on previous results and are starting to frame a coherent story about how the general election might look with different Republican candidates.
The new survey results indicate that Mr. DeSantis would do better than Mr. Trump in the general election in specific battleground states. For example, in Georgia, Mr. DeSantis leads President Biden by 3 percentage points in a general election matchup.
In the same matchup, Mr. Trump loses Georgia to Mr. Biden by 3 points.
In Pennsylvania, Mr. DeSantis runs 2 points better than Mr. Biden while Mr. Trump runs 4 points behind Mr. Biden.
Back in April, Mr. Trump trailed Mr. Biden in Pennsylvania by the same 4 percentage points. Mr. DeSantis led Mr. Biden in Pennsylvania by 3 points.
In Arizona, the current spread between the candidates appears greater. Mr. DeSantis runs 6 points better than Mr. Biden while Mr. Trump runs 3 points behind the president. That is also a greater margin than was evident in polling done in April.
Those results indicated that Mr. DeSantis would defeat Mr. Biden nationally by 3 percentage points while Mr. Trump would lose nationally by 3 percentage points — the same margin by which he lost in 2020.

Well I’m 46. DeSantis would be 48. The Left may be able to wait out a Trump term. DeSantis is the ONLY one who could follow him, it may take more than 4 years to reverse the damage the left has done. Plus, they may try to Impeach and remove Trump again

I have liked things that he has done, it’s just that I’m no longer
convinced he is the guy I once took him for.

No, it’s not a waste of time. There’s plenty of people posting every possible poll about Trump over and over again. It’s nice to see a little bit here that DeSantis is actually quite strong, we see that in the polls. Doing equally as well as Trump or better..

That’s the point. There are deadenders who will vote for Donald Trump forever, no matter how old he gets, no matter how many times he loses, he’ll always be “the only one that can win.” It’s goofy.

On the other hand. If DeSantis falls on his knees and begs Trump’s forgiveness and begs for the Vice-President. Both factions within the GOP will get what they want. Both sides can come together for Trump in 2024 and DeSantis in 2028.
Give it a chance, he will be the front runner in 24. It is idiotic to suggest that he should be waiting his turn, Trump needs to earn his spot and 24. And he’s not doing very well at the moment.
The great thing about being a Trump supporter is that you can insist that good polling is true, bad polling is fake, election wins are accurate and election loses are rigged. There’s always a reason besides the candidate.
The MAGA Movement is way bigger than Trump. Trump is a tool to Maga, but if a movement is based in one man it will die.
And you realize how uninformed you are, correct? Have you actually seen or met DeSantis? Watch the videos, I actually saw him in Nevada a week ago, I saw the interactions, he is energetic, despite the propaganda saying otherwise. He connects with people. I’ll grant you that he’s not an entertainer like Trump, but he is definitely a competent, qualified, successful candidate that will actually accomplish what he set out to do.
DeSantis doesn’t want to go from being a successful sitting Govenor to VP.
We will see, all will be revealed in time.
