'We are turning back': Wagner chief sensationally agrees to END his mercenary group's march on Moscow following emergency negotiations - after Russian military desperately rushed to build defences around the capital
Daily Mail ^ | 6/24/2023 | Christian Oliver

Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin has confirmed he has ordered his mercenaries to halt their march on Moscow and retreat to their field camps in Ukraine to avoid shedding Russian blood.

'We are turning back our columns and leave in the opposite direction to the field camps according to the plan,' an audio message on his Telegram feed said after a meeting between Prigozhin and Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.

An uneasy calm has now prevailed on the streets of Moscow in a city that had been preparing for war. The capital had braced for the arrival of forces from the Wagner Group, a private army led by Prigozhin that has been fighting alongside regular Russian troops in Ukraine, by erecting checkpoints with armored vehicles and troops on the city's southern edge. Red Square was shut down, and the mayor urged motorists to stay off some roads.

But Prigozhin announced that while his men were just 200 kilometers (120 miles) from Moscow, he decided to turn them back to avoid 'shedding Russian blood.'

He did not say whether the Kremlin has responded to his demand to oust Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. There was no immediate comment from the Kremlin.

The shock announcement follows a statement from the office of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko saying that he had negotiated a deal with Prigozhin after previously discussing the issue with Putin.

Prigozhin has accepted Lukashenko's offer to halt the Wagner group's advance and further steps to de-escalate the tensions, Lukashenko's office said, adding that the proposed settlement contains security guarantees for Wagner troops. It did not elaborate.

Look at this retarded monkey, did he actually think he was gonna take down Putin? I sure as hell wouldn’t put up with this nonsense. Putin is way too much of a softy, I would have taken this punk down long ago.

I'd say he had more of a chance than you give him. Russia has a long history of successful coups.

I've been to Russia. Completely different mindset than anywhere else I've been. In some ways, it's a third world country. In other ways, it's a first world country. In either event, they have nukes, and since the generals and troops cannot easily profit off scams related to these weapons, these weapons actually work.

When I went, I was immediately offered a full auto AK for less than 100$.

Looks like to me he violated Machievelli’s maxim - “When you strike a prince you must kill him with the first blow!”.

That usually means it won’t end well for the master chef!

The hilarity of watching Putlims — in real time — attempt to backpedal from insisting Prig was part of a multi-billion neocon plan co-ordinated by “DC/London” to homotakeover Russia (Rus is already stuffed full of trannies, as is China), and now suddenly insist it was kabuki all along. LOFL! Some of you Putlim Freeptards need to cut down on the daydrinking, or smash your computer and eat the glass.

The locals in Rostov are having a selfie party taking photos with the Wagner troops and their tanks tonight. Crazy.

There is no evidence that he is going back to the Ukraine war, he's just turning back from the march on Moscow. Which would have ended badly for him. He's got too much to lose. But he may have even signed his own death certificate, by thinking he possessed more power than he actually has. He has most certainly ruined the relationship he had with Putin.

Time will tell what the ramifications will be.

"Look at this retarded monkey, did he actually think he was gonna take down Putin?"

He's as delusional as Hitler was, thinking he was ever going to defeat Russia, and every inch of the vast country it entails. Destined to fail.

I imagine it like this: US called the mercenaries, said we will give you 6.2[billion] if you kill Putin. They were like sure thing!! They call Putin, tell him what's up, Putin's like let's do this, I'll act scared! They head out, get 100 miles from Putin, get $6.2 [billlion] from the US. Stop and say psych!

See, the one person in this that I don’t understand is Prigozhin. He had a reasonably good chance of seizing Moscow and declaring himself president. The last two major regimechanges, 1917 and 1997, both involved brutal force and/or the military. Russia is used to this being the way parties change power.

Not sure why Prigo turned back. The only thing I can imagine is the threat of nuclear weapons, which Putin still holds command over.
