Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin has confirmed he has ordered his mercenaries to halt their march on Moscow and retreat to their field camps in Ukraine to avoid shedding Russian blood.
'We are turning back our columns and leave in the opposite direction to the field camps according to the plan,' an audio message on his Telegram feed said after a meeting between Prigozhin and Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.
An uneasy calm has now prevailed on the streets of Moscow in a city that had been preparing for war. The capital had braced for the arrival of forces from the Wagner Group, a private army led by Prigozhin that has been fighting alongside regular Russian troops in Ukraine, by erecting checkpoints with armored vehicles and troops on the city's southern edge. Red Square was shut down, and the mayor urged motorists to stay off some roads.
But Prigozhin announced that while his men were just 200 kilometers (120 miles) from Moscow, he decided to turn them back to avoid 'shedding Russian blood.'
He did not say whether the Kremlin has responded to his demand to oust Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. There was no immediate comment from the Kremlin.
The shock announcement follows a statement from the office of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko saying that he had negotiated a deal with Prigozhin after previously discussing the issue with Putin.
Prigozhin has accepted Lukashenko's offer to halt the Wagner group's advance and further steps to de-escalate the tensions, Lukashenko's office said, adding that the proposed settlement contains security guarantees for Wagner troops. It did not elaborate.

I have had a feeling that is rowing that this is all Chinese Opera.
He hasn’t agreed, I don’t read, to leave Rostov. Rostov is the logistics hub for the entire Russian effort in Ukraine. That is a powerful position.
More will be revealed.
This is the guy who complained about no ammunition yet expected to take on Russia’s Army?
I suspect Putin made him a better offer and wrote him a bigger check or this was some kind of planned nonsense to get traitors to reveal themselves..... I also think the Chef was smart enough to see Chechens on the horizon and NOBODY wants to tangle with them.
How serious was this? Who knows, but keep in mind that Wagner now controls the logistics pipeline for Russian forces in the Ukraine (Rostov) and the crossroads of Crimea. Hard to find a better position to have a say in the Ukraine than the one he currently occupies if he can keep his head and he has more control over resupply than the Russian generals at the moment.
I am not sure what to make of this.
A convoy of trucks and tanks without air cover is DOA.
They were setting a trap for Z-man.
Evidently he didn’t take the bait.
With the Putin/Russian Crime Syndicate after him? Think that won't last too long.
Based on what do you come to that conclusion? Who blinked?
It looks to me like this guy Prigohzin is toast. I don’t think the Putin/Russian Crime Syndicate will let him live.
Day before yesterday, Russians arrested a terrorist cell in Moscow that was planning attacks.
Seemed unrelated, but maybe not.
You mean the Fedsurrection op that was orchestrated by the Feds and Antifa?
LOL !
It looks to me like this guy Prigohzin is toast. I don’t think the Putin/Russian Crime Syndicate will let him live.
The only thing that could have happened, is that Putin let it be known he was not above using nuclear weapons on Wagner’s guys.
“Dude — On January 6th of 2021, the U.S. Capitol was sacked by a bunch of unarmed hooligans who were about as rowdy as an English Premier League soccer crowd.”

So, what will the Leftists call this, a super-duper, for realz insurrection? Our media wouldn’t know a genuine insurrection if it came and shot them in the ass.
He is a Putin guy and his public beef up until the last couple of weeks has been with the general staff of the military who he now (reported by Euro journalists too) accuses of bombarding and killing Wagner forces.
Has that changed or is there something else going on? The simplest explanation is that he signed his death warrant and he was serious. However, things in Russia are rarely that simple.
He is a big-time warmonger and advocate for what brutality it takes to defeat Kiev so I am not sure we want him in charge of Russia - it would NOT be an improvement over Putin and his corruptocrats.
Given the US track record of arming terrorist groups, they will re-define Prigozhin as a “moderate war criminal” and put him on the payroll !
So weird this whole episode. And Lukashenko was the deal maker between Putin and Prigo?
