'We are turning back': Wagner chief sensationally agrees to END his mercenary group's march on Moscow following emergency negotiations - after Russian military desperately rushed to build defences around the capital

Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin has confirmed he has ordered his mercenaries to halt their march on Moscow and retreat to their field camps in Ukraine to avoid shedding Russian blood.

'We are turning back our columns and leave in the opposite direction to the field camps according to the plan,' an audio message on his Telegram feed said after a meeting between Prigozhin and Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.

An uneasy calm has now prevailed on the streets of Moscow in a city that had been preparing for war. The capital had braced for the arrival of forces from the Wagner Group, a private army led by Prigozhin that has been fighting alongside regular Russian troops in Ukraine, by erecting checkpoints with armored vehicles and troops on the city's southern edge. Red Square was shut down, and the mayor urged motorists to stay off some roads.

But Prigozhin announced that while his men were just 200 kilometers (120 miles) from Moscow, he decided to turn them back to avoid 'shedding Russian blood.'

He did not say whether the Kremlin has responded to his demand to oust Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. There was no immediate comment from the Kremlin.

The shock announcement follows a statement from the office of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko saying that he had negotiated a deal with Prigozhin after previously discussing the issue with Putin.

Prigozhin has accepted Lukashenko's offer to halt the Wagner group's advance and further steps to de-escalate the tensions, Lukashenko's office said, adding that the proposed settlement contains security guarantees for Wagner troops. It did not elaborate.

This was an op that was months in the planning with people on the inside of Putins’ government and military timed to coincide with Ukraine offences...it failed not because they did not try...he is trying to save himself and his troops but the Rubicon as been crossed and him and his troops are over...basically a dead man walking, Putin cannot let this slide.

Did this guy chicken our because he knew he had already lost?

Thoughts?

Since you asked for thoughts...Prigohzin probably pocketed a considerable sum of money for his little escapade, more than enough to live in luxury for the rest of his life in some other country. Nice deal for a couple days of work.

I remember the good old days when drunkards like Yeltsin would pull a couple of artillery pieces into red square and starts shelling the Kremlin. Those were the days my friend...

Dude — On January 6th of 2021, the U.S. Capitol was sacked by a bunch of unarmed hooligans who were about as rowdy as an English Premier League soccer crowd.

“He must have led into expecting help from others which did not materialize... Or maybe Russia jammed his link with foreign suppliers of intelligence”

The working theory is that Wagner was told that the masses (a little Communist lingo for you Neocon Supporters) would rise up and OVERTHROW Putin. But when no one rose up, and especially when the Chechens started heading towards Rostov, Wagner knew it was over.

I’d guess that his merc career is over - who’s going to hire a private army that bites the hand that feeds it?

No doubt that’s true. Someone planned and financed Prigozhin’s escapade and likely promised to take care of him if things didn’t work out. He didn’t win in the end, but he may not have totally lost either. He can always take a long vacation somewhere.

There is a rumour going around - with all the reliability that you can place in rumors- that Prigozhin and whover is working with him just clipped the CIA for $6B now unaccounted for Pentagon funds as payment to stage this farce. Was Putin in on it?

Whatever it was, it was one hell of a caper, and there are probably so many twists and side plots to this that there is no genuine truth as to what was really going on.

His career may be over, but his retirement is secure. You can be sure he got a huge payday for leading this adventure.

Communist power struggles.

One warlord holds Moscow. One holds Rostov. Another Minsk.

Like 19th century.

"On January 6th of 2021, the U.S. Capitol was sacked by a bunch of unarmed hooligans who were about as rowdy as an English Premier League soccer crowd."

And if the 100,000 had simply sat down on their hands, refused to move, expressly stated a non-violent, permanent occupation of the Capitol, and thus exposed the glowies and the ANTIFA among them, we wouldn't even be having this discussion, because the puppet-state installation could not have taken place, and the Ukraine war would have been long ago settled.

Had the 100,000 been eliminated, all the Freepers onaning their continual CW2 chub would have gotten their wish.

Much like the Putlims nearly got their pwn today.
