Putin vows to defend Russia against armed rebellion led by mercenary chief: 'They will answer for it'

Russian President Vladimir Putin pledged Saturday to defend the country and its people from an armed rebellion declared by Wagner Group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin, describing the call to action as a treasonous decision that puts the country’s survival in peril.

In a televised address Saturday morning, Putin said the mutiny amounted to "a deadly threat to our statehood," vowing there will be "tough actions" in response.

"All those who prepared the rebellion will suffer inevitable punishment," Putin stated. "The armed forces and other government agencies have received the necessary orders."

While he did not call Prigozhin out by name, he described the rebellion as a "criminal adventure, a grave crime, an armed mutiny" and encouraged those involved to "stop participating in criminal acts."

So far this AM (German time)...the only noticeable thing is two Russian Army helicopters shot down.

If the Russian Army had to turn and support a internal civil war...they could probably dedicate 30k troops to this, but it’d end most of the offensive in the Ukraine.

On the Wagner total...lot of differing numbers on what they might have in Rostov...at least couple of hundred. But begs the question...are there Russian troops that would support Wagner at this point...instead of the Army generals?

If our CIA starts air dropping ordance and supplies to the Wagner Group, do you think they can avoid the Poooty hand hovering over the red button?

We are in very dangerous territory.

“If our CIA starts air dropping ordance and supplies to the Wagner Group”

Extremely low probability event. Rostov and Voronezh are deep in Russia behind the Russian air defense system. Which is as far as we know still operating. To do such an airdrop would require an extensive SEAD campaign first, for days if not longer, blasting Russian assets all over western Russia. Never mind the airdrop.

And to move Air Force resources to even begin such a campaign will take several weeks, probably.

Devils advocate here... If Russia revolts, won’t that end the uke war and make Brandon a hero? Just asking... Don’t flame me. Just looking upstream.

Putin has called members of the CSTO (the Russian version of NATO), President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko & Head of Kazakhstan Tokayev.

But the President of Kazakhstan Tokayev refused to support Putin!!

Putin himself called his Kazakh colleague, but the Kazakh said that Prigozhin’s rebellion was an internal affair of Russia.

Source: Ateo Breaking citing Kazakh channels.

All you have to do is connect with Freepers who live near joint base San Antonia......they usually know when Christians in Action are sending out their air drop units to Europe .

THe planes will have no standard ID markings but maybe Russian logos.

I’m sure this is just more deep state propaganda from the likes of DeSantis and Bullwinkle. Or it’s a trap!!

It is very likely to end the Uke war.
Too early to say, but all kinds of things have become much more like,y, like a unilateral withdrawal.
I have no idea if it will make Brandon a hero, but I wouldn’t rule it out.

That’s one reason why supporting Putin was always a silly move. The Euro right didn’t do that, mostly. They properly read the room. The few who did, had no hope of winning elections, or had a solid grip on their countries, like Orban, who can probably shrug off being wrong.

Always fun to have a mutiny behind your front lines.

Nothing new.

Prigozhin ain’t no Marshall Petan, but he’s trying.

Sounds extremely hinky. Strange planes claiming to be Russian entering their airspace while a battle is going on on the road to Moscow.

The Wagner boss sees what the reality on the ground really is, not what state propaganda, their shills in the US and Putin wants it to be.

I don’t consider Wagner folks to be part of the Army, and their use in the war....opened up a ‘lab experiment’ of what you shouldn’t conduct in a war.

One odd aspect....because of crappy training and strategy over the past fifty years, the regular Russian Army was not prepared for this type of invasion. Wagner? It was designed for civil conflict in Africa or Asia. When you started mixing regular Army and Wagner...there was no central control or authority.

Russian Army recruits probably don’t want to fight Russians themselves, but Wagner folks probably don’t have that feeling in fighting Army members, if necessary.

Sounds like some urgency in finding troops.
Maybe there are few combat troops available.

Most of every military are REMFs.

[If our CIA starts air dropping ordance and supplies to the Wagner Group]

Their route of march is directly along the supply line for the invasion. By controlling Rostov and Voronezh, they have the supply dumps they need to move on Moscow.
