Republican National Committee (RNC) chairwoman Ronna McDaniel doubled down on the need for a GOP loyalty pledge on Thursday, arguing that the party has “to be united” in 2024.
“It’s the Republican Party nomination and the pledge is staying,” McDaniel said when pressed by “Fox News Tonight” guest host Kayleigh McEnany. “Anybody who wants to seek the nomination of our party should pledge to support the voters. If you go through this process and you take time on the debate stage and you’re going to be there, the number one pledge should be, beat Biden.”
“It’s called the “Beat Biden Pledge” for a reason because at the end of the day, we all have to be united in one thing,” she added.

So, unless they drop it, no debates in August.
This is childish, pure high school. It’s in the same genre as the debate question we always see, “tell us something you admire about your opponent”, or people who want the evening news to be filled with heartwarming good news stories.
Sorry Ronna, the country is in dire condition. And the ***Republican party*** badly harmed Trump’s presidency.
A more useful promise is that if Trump wins, he can expect the 100% full throated support of the ENTIRE republican Party when IN OFFICE.
Like the loyalty to the US and the Constitution ones?
Try getting the politicians to pledge loyalty to the voters and the policies the voters wanted them to endorse in DC.
Mitch, Kevin McCarthy and the others will run, not walk, to leave town to avoid being handed a pen.
Example: Trust us. When the GOP takes over we will shut down and replace Obamacare as our first order of business.
We will bring the criminals to justice who make up the Swamp and who covered for Bill and Hillary Clinton.
The RNC hate us. They know they cannot retain power without us, but they want to tell us all what to do.
Tomah.

When he was first running there was a conservative commentator who said Trump is a truthteller. People instinctively don’t like truthtellers. They want to be told comforting lies and be flattered to they can lie to themselves.
Ronna Needs to step aside now! She is only in this to feel important and get rich. IMHO she cares nothing about the Republican Party.
Why step aside, Trump supported her in this role, he owns this. Trump supporters should stand with Trump, else renounce him as well.
Behind The Candidate that has not nor will not be Bribed.
☑️ Trump 2024 vs. The Hate Pledge
?
“We have to be united...”
lol, that’s a pure totalitarian speaking. the gope is just vile.
These people are whining about it because they know Trump is going to win.
I say make them sign it.
She is right.
We don’t want a Wilson/Taft/Roosevelt repeat.
“We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.”
Benjamin Franklin
I would certainly hope so.
McConnell and Ryan essentially set up the situation we have
today, because of their stiff necks and numb skulls.
I do not want to see debate stifled, but it was very
disconcerting in the old days when Dole would walk out
one door, McCain would walk out another, and a third
Republican would walk out a third, and address three
different versions of Republican policy.
On any given day the Democrats and the media are using
the exact same phrases all day. The Republicans could
have a day when 12 different versions, and 75 different
sentences were being blurted out.
How do you get party and supporter unity from that?
Loyalty oaths are wrong. I supported Trump, donated to him. Prior to that I did the same with Ted Cruz. My support has evolved, I now support DeSantis. It would be wrong to say I had to stick with Cruz, or to say the same with Trump, or whether I must stay with DeSantis. My choice may change. It is no different for the presidential candidates. Besides, Trump has despicably trashed DeSantis as disloyal for deciding to run against him. Trump has even gone so far as praising Cuomo over DeSantis. Why should DeSantis be now asked to promise loyalty to such a disrespectful, irratic, and self-centered person as Trump has become? This is not the mafia or a gang and Trump has no right to claim fealty from anyone.
United around the Constitution and authentic rule of law? Or Paul Ryan?
Not on your life to the latter.
What in the world is wrong with these people? 🤬
Let's have the debates, maybe limit the participants, let the voters speak. Then, once we have a nominee, choose to support them or not. The losers really don't matter, the winner doesn't typically need their continued support. In 2016 Trump's win did not depend on, for example, Jeb's endorsement and support.
I really don’t know. But I do recall much of the same turmoil in 2015 when we all start bailing on Cruz to support Trump. In some cases, it is the same people repeating that behavior now as they linger with Trump while we all are moving on to DeSantis and others.
