Reparations for slavery in the U.S. have been discussed contentiously, not only in the lead-up to this Monday’s Juneteenth holiday that commemorates the end of slavery in the country. A survey carried out by Pew Research Center in 2021 shows that two thirds in the U.S. reject the idea of slavery reparations.
The picture is different among Black Americans, of whom three quarters support reparations. Support is also higher among Hispanics – where almost 40 percent are in favor – and Asians – one third is for reparations – than among white Americans. Only 18 percent in the group supported them, the survey showed.

Any government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always count on Paul’s support. :)
But it kept the topic alive. And you know it was circulated amongst so called historically black colleges. Recall the how not to be white list by the african smithsonian? It dates back to 1990.
Here we are many years later and an idea the majority of people said never would fly is in the public discourse. And several cities have passed a reparations tax. I have no idea how it'll be paid but these things start small and grow.
It's coming folks. And it will tear this country apart if it does.
I want reparations for the descendants of Union Civil War soldiers.
Even if reparations were granted, that would not end the demand for more reparations monetary or otherwise.
My familiy has never owned a negro, nor would we have wanted one.
The facts may be too long to put in a post on this site.
June 19th 1865 is supposed to be the date that people in Galveston Texas learned about the Emancipation Proclamation.
Slavery was not legally ended until the ratification of the 13th Amendment in December 1865.
The Emancipation Proclamation freed slaves in areas that were in Rebellion against the United States. It did not free slaves in border states which remained in the Union but still had slaves.
But in popular usage this date is said to be the date slavery ended. That is not historically accurate but this is how people are talking about it.
Celebrate that with Christmas; remembering Who truly freed ALL the slaves.
A friend of mine once declared he was glad his forefathers were shitty athletes, they got caught and luckily ended up in America.
He went on to state “I’d hate to have been stuck in that third world shithole called Africa “.
Most of America’s blacks don’te know how good they have it.
A HUGE segment is illiterate, they have No services, no sewer and water no electricity... Etcetc
God bless you and your grandmother.
I want reparations for the Thirty Years’ War. I don’t know if I was the oppressed or the oppressor, but gimmie, gimmie, gimmie!
Sort of like celebrating the new millennium on Jan 1, 2000.
Ay, por favor-esta mierda otra vez? La Raza is nothing but a fake organization-like BLM-it is a communist wanna-be-I’m Hispanic and Caucasian, like most Hispanics-but Hispanic is NOT A RACE/raza-most of us are tired of this phony raza bulls***...
Does my enslaved Native American DNA get reparations from my slave-taking Spanish DNA? Since most Black people’s DNA has become so intertwined with Caucasian and Asian DNA over the last few centuries as well, who should really be paying who any reparations is a moot point in the real world...
The GIMMEDAT CROWDS never give up
Corporations want it, because they know they’d get all the money in the end.
Yes--I would go even further to say that starting with the Clintons, Bidens, and Pelosis every registered white democRAT in the U.S. should have their property confiscated and redistributed to black Americans as proof of contrition for what their democRAT forefathers did to black folk.
Like Kwanzaa, another phony black “holiday”.
Our new ruling class needs some walking around money.
I really have a hard time with the idea of people who never owned slaves paying slavery reparations to people who have never been slaves.
Kwanza exists to try and focus black interest from Christmas. Juneteenth exists to focus black interest away from July 4.
American blacks are quick to claim Egypt as theirs. It’s pretty funny all Egypt’s famous sites exist due to overwhelming use of slaves. Whatever is finally paid out should be immediately surrendered to descendants of former slaves of Egypt.
