…Jim Jordan demands answers about a bizarre and disturbing IRS house call…. a Marion, Ohio, taxpayer received a visit from a man who claimed his name was “Bill Haus” and worked in the IRS criminal division.
Mr. Haus said he needed to talk to her about an estate... She let him in despite having received no prior IRS communication. Mr. Haus claimed she had not properly filled out estate forms and owed the IRS “a substantial amount.” Only when the taxpayer presented proof of paying all taxes on the estate did the agent reveal that his visit wasn’t about the estate at all. It was about several supposed delinquent tax returns...
the taxpayer called her attorney, who insisted Mr. Haus leave the house, only to be told by Mr. Haus: “I am an IRS agent, I can be at and go into anyone’s house at any time I want to be.” Mr. Haus finally left, but not before threatening to freeze the taxpayer’s assets and put a lien on her house... Fearing a scam, she called the local police...
When an officer called Mr. Haus, Mr. Haus identified himself as an IRS agent but said Haus wasn’t his real name... The officer, also suspecting a scam, warned that if he returned to the taxpayer’s home he’d be arrested. Mr. Haus then filed a complaint against the Marion police officer with the Treasury…
the taxpayer on May 4 spoke with Mr. Haus’s supervisor, who clarified that she owed nothing and said…that “things never should have gotten this far...” the following day, the taxpayer received a letter—addressed to the decedent—stating that the decedent was delinquent on several 1040 filings… The taxpayer was again told by the supervisor that nothing was owed and was notified on May 30 that the case was closed…

Armed intruder = Castle Doctrine!
Agree!
Unfortunately people don’t use issues/reasons to vote they use emotions.
“We need more IRS agents…..thousands more. Make sure they are armed, too.”
If only we could get them to wear baby blue helmets, it would be just perfect.
If we take back the WH next year, we also need to fire most of those agents, along with most of the other useless government employees.
And 870s are decadent as you don’t kill your neighbors.
There are many here on FR who still think that these things cannot happen here...
Stinking communist bastards continue to run roughshod over the servile & indolent Aamerican serfs...
There are no limits to tyranny...
There is no end in sight!
So:
Bow down!... Obey!... Snitch!...
They can’t answer the phone but they have the time to make a home visit?
870s are decadent? You mean like the shotguns?
You get to read the best parts. I edited it for you.
Our country is under attack by a bunch of vile dirtbags who really need killing. Yeah, I said it.
BTW, I am not suicidal, even though I have
Impending surgery...
870 and a Catahoula... got .223 and .308 but....a 12 Guage is very good close range defense.
No no no. We must all stop voting. Wouldn’t the Democrats love that? Whose agenda do you support?
I really wouldn’t know how to recognize a phony warrant or badge.
Did you mean to say “decent?”
I like 12 gauge shotguns as much as the next guy, but I don’t think they’re decadent.
😁
Wait till 87000 IRS armed Agents are turned loose.
They will stop a threat up to a grizzly bear...so I call them decadent.
A 12 is utilized more than a 45/70 by most hunting guides in bear country.
I’ll go with the 12, and I won’t kill my neighbors.
“The IRS is probably sighing a breath of relief that no wannabe dictators flew half-cocked and actually shot somebody.”
More likely a sigh of frustration that they DIDN’T...
Kinda reminds me of the federal agent in the movie, “Iron Giant”.
“And all that that implies...”
Steve Isdahl, a Canadian hunting guide whom I very much respect, recommends a 12 over anything else. I believe he is correct.
