The media falsely accused Donald Trump of breaking a promise to get “food for everyone” at a Cuban restaurant, and had to quietly correct their reports on the subject.
Journalists were quick to claim Trump skipped out on a promise to buy supporters food at the Versailles restaurant in Miami shortly after he appeared in court to face federal charges.
“It turns out no one got anything. Not even a cafecito to-go,” claimed the Miami New Times, citing a “knowledgeable source”. Business Insider, Salon, and others were quick to repeat the accusation. The claim has since been debunked by Trump’s team, indicating the outlets never even bothered to check with the Trump team before running their hit pieces. The “update” quietly added to the pieces.
“A spokesperson for Trump [said] the former president had ‘offered to buy food’ for his supporters but they ‘followed him outside’ when he was leaving ‘and did not place orders themselves,'” admitted Insider in an amended version of their article, adding that Trump’s advance team “paid for any to-go meals ordered.”
Nevertheless, the headline of Insider’s report still suggests Trump “left without paying for anything” as of the time of publication.
Truth doesn’t matter. The left got their meme out there, confident that it will be repeated ten times more than Dan Quayle’s “Potatoe”.
The media simply lies outright, now.
It seems the media is chock full of petulant, know-nothing 9yr olds these days.
Their opening gambit is always slander, and nothing they say can be taken at face value. Everything is a ploy. They are ployers.
“I wonder how many DeSanticmonious Online Influencers here on FreeRepublic jumped on this bandwagon simply because it showed President Trump in a negative light?”
nice try but no.

And if they knew that he had paid for it they would have claimed he was trying to buy votes!
You can see a sample here:
That is the standard leftist lie technique. They know it will be heralded worldwide and a sufficent number of people will keep on believing it, never getting the memo that it was a lie.
Tagline explains why.
Someone told me that lawyers are saying that Trump never paid them. I guess this is the new story going around — that Trump is too cheap to pay for services.
Of course, you claim desantis supporters/likely nevertrumpers don’t quickly post false stories that are negative about Trump....
While posting your example, in a thread where a desantis supporter/likely nevertrumper posted the false story about Trump.
This article appears incorrect.
Trump said “Food for Everyone” in the restaurant, and raised his hands up over the patrons. Does that not imply he was paying for their food?
Now we’re told just because “his people” chose not to eat there, Trump made good on his promise, even though everyone who actually ate at the restaurant had to pay for their own?
“His people” = Everyone?
I assumed it was a lie the moment I read it. Nothing presented by the MSM can be trusted, absolutely nothing. In fact, I believe the media in both Russia and China are more trustworthy than what is being foisted on Americans throughout through the country.
I NEVER EVER EVER believe anything from the communist “Media” Im more inclined to believe Kim Jung Un first at least he’s more reliable..I knew Trump didnt stiff anyone. I remember I think it was last week Trump went into a restaurant and said “Foods on Trump” and whipped out his credit and paid for everyone’s meal
Does anyone think the media tells the truth about Trump?
There were a few.
But I would never rat out ncalbert.
