MELLETTE, S.D.—On their way to attend their niece’s wedding in July 2021, fourth-generation farmer Ed Fischbach of Mellette, South Dakota, and his wife made a quick stop to check the mailbox.
His wife reached inside, pulling out a handful of letters. Within the small pile was an envelope from a company she had never heard of—Summit Carbon Solutions.
She opened the letter and began reading it.
“Dear landowner,” the letter began innocently enough. But as she continued reading, her jaw nearly dropped.
“Listen to this,” she told her husband.
The Iowa-based company described plans to build a massive carbon capture pipeline across five midwestern states in the letter.
The 1,400-mile pipeline would transport carbon dioxide under high pressure, produced by ethanol and biofuel refineries, for burial in North Dakota. The goal would be to reduce the region’s carbon footprint to protect the environment.
The Fischbachs then learned that the pipeline would travel through some of the most productive areas of the 1,400-acre property that has been in their family for decades.

“It just set off a chain reaction. Nobody wanted this thing. They ended the meeting,” said Fischbach, leader of the South Dakota Easement Team opposed to the company’s attempts to acquire right-of-way easements by eminent domain to build the pipeline.
Since the July 2021 letter, Summit Carbon has filed more than 81 eminent domain lawsuits in 10 South Dakota counties against farmers who refuse to voluntarily sign easement agreements with the company.
“They’re trying to intimidate people,” Fischbach said. “They’re doing this with no permit. That’s what’s upsetting.”

There is NO "Science" supporting this nonsense.
The "models" are all fraudulent and can't even be applied to historic climate data to demonstrate cause and effect.
“Similar post from June 1st - When Green Energy Comes For Your Farm”
Thanks. I remember reading that and a couple more articles from a few weeks ago on this issue. I guess I could have updated one of those threads, but thought the Epoch Times article deserved a thread of its own. The government’s new mantra that “You will own nothing.....” is coming into reality. We are no longer going to be secure on our own property.
I’m glad the farmers are banding together. Mid-west state and federal representatives should take an interest in their situation and work with the farmers to but a stop to this land grab. It would not only be the right thing to do, it would be a guaranteed re-election public relations ploy.
As far as getting rid of it in the atmosphere (not that it needs to be gotten rid of) just plant more trees.
NE New Mexico has lots of pure natural carbon dioxide under the Bravo Dome.

Your post was new information documenting this issue. Thanks for posting it. I read somewhere the Summit Carbon Solutions contributes a lot of money to Republican legislators the the states affected so they will look the other way. The judge in this case needs to take into account these farmers representatives do no have their interests at heart in this land grab by the globalist greenies.
What do an indisputable is that CONCENTRATED CO2, like what they want to put across these peoples’ land, is highly lethal. It bugs the ground and will kill you as dead as a doornail in your sleep. Along with all of your livestock
Dumbasses.
Idiots.
Just plant some trees.
That's a 'feature', not a bug......
Sending CO2 underground under pressure is about as stupid as it gets. What a harebrained scheme! This company must be getting hundreds of millions of dollars from the Federal government.
“[CO2] It bugs the ground and will kill you”
Interesting. RVs are required to have a carbon monoxide detector, which is mounted near the floor because CO is heavier than air.
CO2 vapor is a lot heavier than CO vapor:
CO: 1.145 kilograms per cubic meter
CO2: 1.977 kilograms per cubic meter
Even if pumped it into the ground as planned, it could leak out and kill.
However, unlike CO2, CO is a poisonous gas. CO2 merely dilutes the oxygen in the air.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
On 21 August 1986, a limnic eruption at Lake Nyos in northwestern Cameroon killed 1,746 people and 3,500 livestock.[1]
The eruption triggered the sudden release of about 100,000–300,000 tons (1.6 million tons, according to some sources) of carbon dioxide (CO2).[2][3] The gas cloud initially rose at nearly 100 kilometres per hour (62 mph; 28 m/s) and then, being heavier than air, descended onto nearby villages, displacing all the air and suffocating people and livestock within 25 kilometres (16 mi) of the lake.[4][5]
A degassing system has since been installed at the lake, with the aim of reducing the concentration of CO2 in the waters and therefore the risk of further eruptions.
I dint read the article but I bet they are sending it to North Dakota to be “disposed of.” They will pump it into an oil field to increase production. Talk about getting money from both sides.
I believe the Grenniacs, Bidenacs and AOCacts are gearing up to make Climate Change the emergency in order to seize control of the 2024 elections and insure Basement Biden wins by 91 million votes this time.
Governor Noem should immediately call a special session of the Legislature to address the issue of imminent domain. That armed guards are being used to “protect” survey teams shows the tyranny being used to push this project. It is ironic that the “polluting” CO2 comes from those “green” ethanol plants. Note many members of Congress from the area, particularly South Dakota Senator John Thune, are virtual whores of the ethanol lobby.
Has anyone considered the possible effects of injecting high pressure CO2 into deep underground formations? Oklahoma has experienced in increase in earthquakes purportedly due to fluid injection into oil and gas wells.
Screw the courts. Beat the company execs with bats
BUT-—NO FRACKING ALLOWED !!!!!!!!
“Screw the courts. Beat the company execs with bats”
If the regulatory agencies, politicians, climate cultists, and businesses such as this do not back off from their anti-freedom policies, I suspect that your solution is going to be the one decided upon in the future to resolve such problems.
CO2 is often compressed and re-injected to maintain oil and gas reservoir pressure.
