A helicopter accident in northeastern Syria over the weekend left 22 American service members injured, the U.S. military said Tuesday, adding that the cause was under investigation and no enemy fire was involved.
The military statement said the service members were receiving treatment and 10 were moved to “higher care facilities” outside the region.
Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said at a media briefing that the mishap involved a single MH-47 Chinook helicopter. The Chinook “had a problem with one rotor that caused a hard landing during takeoff,” Singh said.
All of the service members involved in the crash were in stable condition, she said.

Trump ordered them out, our deep state generals said no.

U.S. troops conducting defensive drills in Syrian oil fields
The US occupation army conducted defensive drills on 9 June using live ammunition in the vicinity of their base in the oil fields of Rumailan, northeast of Hasakah governorate, simulating possible attacks by resistance groups.
This followed similar drills on Thursday at the US occupation base inside the Conoco oil field in Deir Ezzor governorate, including the use of warplanes and helicopters.

We’ve been going over this since 2011.
The US is in Syria to deny ISIS access to the oilfields in eastern Syria which neither the SDF nor Russians have been able to hold or deny ISIS access.
The root cause is logistics. SDF attempted to hold the oil fields but their sites required ground-based supply which ISIS and rebels repeatedly ambushed.
The Russians are unwilling/unable to extend air resupply due to flying over unfriendly area which have SAMs.
Only the US can conduct successful logistics support to the oil fields via air from Iraq using helicopters and Ospreys.
