What was the point of him getting in, if he is dropping out before anything happened? He’s going to make himself look like a Perot. If he does, his political career is over.

A political career isn’t the end all of life. Don’t overlook the purpose of his actions tomorrow.

He's astute enough to understand that he and Trump have the strongest appeal to the same type voters. He would be well served to parlay this into a position with the Trump campaign, and then (potentially) a key cabinet post appointment.

No if he does it is because of what is being done to Trump

Think of VP Kamala Harris.

He’s a businessman, similar to Trump and if this rumor is true, like Trump, actually cares about the USA and not his “political career”.

My guess is a backend deal with the Trump campaign. From now on he will be campaigning as (undeclared) VP. We will see.

I think he wants to be in the Trump 47 administration.

He’s got executive experience in the private sector (he was one of the founders of a biotech firm and now works in venture capital). He needs some experience seeing how things in DC work.

There has been a rumor that Trump will have a surprise VP that will be very good. Vivek certainly would be a good pick.

Then if Vivek wins the Presidency in 2028 he can finish the job Trump started.

I think he’s been running for the VP spot. Doing this instantly endears him to the MAGA, America First voters.

I really like him and hope he is elected President one day, but this is not the time.

He was in it to promote his ideas and see them adopted by a leading candidate.

He succeeded.

As predicted.

“He’s going to make himself look like a Perot.”

What?? Perot was on the ballot, this is nothing like the Perot scenario. I’m still not convinced that Petot didn’t take some payola for splitting the vote.

How? Perot was on the ballot; Vivek wouldn’t be. Apples and oranges.

At first glance, this looks like a clever move for someone with ambitions.

His campaign for the presidency was to gain name recognition; getting out now and throwing in with Trump would force Trump supporters to support him down the road if Trump is not a candidate in 2028.

What was the point of him getting in,

Getting his name out there, making solid conservative bona fides, and get a head start on a future run. He has my vote then.

This move makes DePimple look like a small power grubbing loser.
