exactly, but this is the type of case Biden's DOJ will insert itself if they feel they can get some political mileage out of it prior to an election, meaning, can they get their Black vote riled up.
The headline makes it sound like Penny was threatening women and children.
That aside, I hope Penny gets a sane jury in NYC.
Good point. The issue with trying to squeeze in everything in 140 characters or less.
Sane jury in NYC? Is that even possible? I’m sure the defense is trying like heck for a venue change.
Penny should be given a Medal for protecting fellow passengers.
The grand jury in the Bernie Goetz case refused to indict him for attempted murder, assault, and reckless endangerment. They knocked down his charge of criminal possession of a weapon to one count in the third degree and two counts of possession in the fourth degree for two other "unlicensed" handguns in his home.
The largest group of supporters of funding the police are black Americans in urban areas because they're often victims of crime.
His family is suing...He was homeless....WHERE WAS HIS FAMILY??????????
Goetz was indicted on all these counts. He went to trial and was cleared of everything except the gun possession charges.
bttt
They don’t care. All they know is that they got their ticket to the ghetto lottery.
The following is part of a letter to the editor I submitted to our local Gannett newsrag, one that they declined to publish.
“Columnist Mike Kelly depicted the subway death of demented career criminal Jordan Neely as “our new outrage” (APP, 5/14/23). But against whom should this (fake) outrage be directed? Neely had been arrested at least forty times. His most recent arrest came in November 2021 when he smashed the face of a 67 year old woman.
To be blunt, he is dead because of liberal law enforcement policies. Had the criminal justice system done its job and imprisoned this serial offender, he’d still be alive. Unless he was killed by a fellow inmate of the prison mental ward, that is.
It was said that Neely had “only” threatened, not assaulted subway riders at the time of his unfortunate end. But this piece of advice holds true: “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” – Maya Angelou
You're correct although that was the second grand jury after the DA brought out a "new witness".
Daniel Perry will hopefully face one grand jury that will refuse to indict him on any charges.
Doesn’t matter. You are a white male and a vet.
You will not get a fair trial, you will not get a fair judge and likely witnesses will stab you in the back.
Tag line.
Maybe that is why they left him homeless and dangerous.....Hoping for a payout ....
No, they need the White hates Blacks narrative to keep them on the plantation.
“Daniel Penny says the entire altercation lasted less than 5 minutes and he was threatening women and children.”
Why was Daniel Penny threatening women and children?
*I know he wasn’t but how hard is it to write a headline these days?*
The perils of misplaced modifiers...
They probably start with New Yorkers being asked in a large group of prospective jurors: “If any of you have been the victim of an assault in the NYC subway system, please step out of the room.”
Room is empty.
