A section of I-95 has collapsed in Philadelphia. Can't find any links yet but is being reported on local news. The cause is likely a truck fire.

I 95 is now shovel ready.
An old neighbor of mine drove a gas tanker in the 1970’s. One day he had brand new tires installed. Later that day, a brand new front tire exploded and he rolled the semi full of gas on I-75. Long story short, the fire melted the freeway and his company had to buy 1/4 mile of freeway.
Used to live a little further north on Grant St. What happened to all the infrastructure money?

When i85 north collapsed in Atlanta, driving in the city became exponentially more of a nightmare. This was in March of 2017
Even some liberal friends in the city have Trump a little credit for getting the repairs done so quickly. Originally, it was supposed to be complete in June of 2017.
Due to a $3m bonus structure, the highway reopened in mid May.
Frankly, it was stunning that the government actually did something right.
The plan is to eliminate liquid petroleum fuels.
We are obviously not progressing fast enough. This is a case in point.
Requests for bids will go out to qualified transgender contractors only. All construction equipment used must be electric. They’ll have this all repaired in 5 years or so.
Same situation happened in Battle Creek, Michigan some years back. The fire weakened the I-94 overpass on a surface street.
In what is now called the Far Northeast (used to be just the Northeast) BUT a long way from the Frankford El Bridge St Terminal. And you still “can’t get to heaven on the Frankford El”
From the pix and videos I’ve seen so far looks like the street my factory job was on...used to travel that portion every day in the early 70’s.
Atlanta had their fire collapse fixed in six weeks so it will be interesting to see how many months this will take. I know it’s a Federal job but it is Philly and now we have failed mayor Petey in charge of the DOT.
Diverted traffic will clog local Philly streets.
