The unrealistic catastrophic thinkers here have never looked at a breakdown of Federal spending, nor anything like national accounts breakdowns, etc. Maybe that is too much work.
Money-wise, spending on Ukraine is small change. The degree of bile here, it seems to me, is irrational, disproportionate, and even neurotic. The US has vastly worse fiscal problems nobody ever mentions.
If there are any fixes to the US spending addiction, it will require an absolute dedication to rational analysis. That is never going to happen of course, as the US public is incapable of that. Even the gang here, on the whole a better slice of the people than average, insists on emotional thinking.
