In a Maryland public school board meeting on Tuesday, councilwoman Kristin Mink compared Muslim beliefs to the agenda of white supremacists.
During the board meeting, the Montgomery County public school district received some serious backlash from students about a proposed LGBT curriculum. Muslim students argued that the curriculum would be an infringement on their religious freedom.
Instead of promoting inclusivity, which should make space for all students, the new requirements would make them feel violated and cornered in the classroom.
In the part of the meeting that allowed for public comments, middle schooler Sa’ad Baig brought up his request for an opt-out option, advocating for his peers who have lately received bullying for their hopes of not participating in the program.
Sa’ad acknowledged that kids may have been unfair to LGBT students in the past, but now the situation has totally flipped: “There are over 40 kids that I know who don’t want to learn this and really want to be here talking today but can’t because they are being bullied … they are the ones being bullies when they say, ‘This is against my religion.’”
In other words, students are being bullied for their faith. The LGBT agenda in schools does not defend and support the marginalized – it only works if it uplifts some students while eliminating the perspectives of others.
Three MCPS graduates also appealed to the board: Ibrahim Raziuddin, Yasmeen Elkoshairi, and Hude Oweis. Each graduate was concerned for the futures of their peers and younger relatives.
Ibrahim spoke to represent his first and third-grade cousins, arguing that they aren’t prepared for LGBT discussions because they aren’t developmentally ready.
Yasmeen reminded the board that America is a pluralistic society, which encourages the public exercise of religious freedom. She also asserted that “The issue of gender and sexuality are influenced by our faith, and we should not be caricatured as intolerant, and our faith perceived to be subversive because it doesn’t align with your beliefs.”
Yasmeen applied the language of the left to its own behavior, underlining the hypocrisy of its failure to respect religion.
Hude blatantly stated that installing an LGBT curriculum without an opt-out option would force some students to participate in a conversation that contradicts their faith.
After their comments, Mink stated that “This issue has unfortunately put, not all, but some, Muslim families on the same side of an issue as white supremacists and outright bigots.”
She later went on to advocate for children’s books about transgender kids because “there is widespread consensus in the scientific and medical community that that is the reality.” She argued that the MCPS should support the “reality” of transgender kids.
But how can she claim to acknowledge the “reality” of some students while ignoring the reality of others?
People like Mink don’t understand kids at all. Because apparently, a child born as a little boy knows he should chop off his private parts at seven years old because he likes girls’ toys. But another seven-year-old boy can’t advocate for his religion.
I wonder which idea is based on feelings and play-pretend.
Where is the “science” that supports the whims of children? Where is the “science” that affirms that children are autonomous?
Mink is right that we must listen to our children. But how can she claim to defend and protect them, when she ignores the struggling children in front of her?

Ooohhh... nice!
I heard Kristen also dissed the Koran and drew a picture of Allah with a pride dish dasha.
Pass it on.
“Kristin Mink compared Muslim beliefs to the agenda of white supremacists.”
Mink...a candidate for Columbian necktie?
Let the war begin with blacks vs Muslims. I’ll wait for the winner.
Ruh-roh Raggy....
The Left can capture, reimagine and control the use of any words they wish. Border crossing illegals are “immigrants” who are “undocumented.”
Bill Clinton was the first black President.
Note:
In 1998, Nobel Prize-winning author Toni Morrison in The New Yorker called Clinton “the first Black president”, saying, “Clinton displays almost every trope of blackness: single-parent household, born poor, working-class, saxophone-playing, McDonald’s-and-junk-food-loving boy from Arkansas, and comparing Clinton’s sex life, scrutinized despite his career accomplishments, to the stereotyping and double standards that blacks typically endure.”
It’s progressives vs. Muslims, not black vs. Muslims.
I’m starting to warm up to these anti-LGBQ Muslims.
Say what you will about American “White Supremacists”, they should certainly be commended for their devotion to Diversity and Inclusion - with so many Black and Moslem adherents, college educated females, illegal aliens, Armenians, etc. A genuine Rainbow coalition!
Wait, I thought Muslims were one of the democrat “protected classes”. Guess they lost their usefulness.
Marxist Dems want everyone equal especially in Maryland.
Which I predicted 20 years ago.
We can also make comparisons.
These other folks beliefs we compare to all the godless, perverted folks aligned to the baby killers sacrificing to Molech, and to the twisted people of Sodom and Gommorah.
Isn’t this Kristen Mink gal the same Kristen Mink that defiled the Koran and then Burned it last weekend on Twitter???
So many enemies so little time sometimes the rodents just can’t figure out what lie they have to tell.
If there are more than 2 genders what is the difference between B and T?
Not even sure that is a gal, need to see the hands...
