Special Counsel Jack Smith officially indicted former President Donald Trump on Thursday for his retention of presidential documents following his departure from the White House.
The Attorney General Merrick Garland appointee was hard-pressed to cook up charges but somehow still confirmed Americans’ widely held suspicions that this is just a continuation of the deep state’s ploy to get Trump, which started with the Russia collusion hoax in 2016.
“Today’s act of open legal ‘warfare’ by the highly politicized and partisan Department of Injustice, has taken things to a new level, and set a dangerous precedent,” the Trump campaign said in a statement on Thursday night. “By politically weaponizing the DOJ, the Biden administration and their henchmen in the Swamp are now conducting an all-out prosecution of the leader of the current administration’s political opposition. This is un-American and wrong.”
As Federalist Senior Legal Correspondent Margot Cleveland repeatedly noted prior to the charges, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) appeared to share no “legitimate concerns” about the documents Trump kept in his Mar-a-Lago home. If they did, NARA failed to afford Trump the same help it gave the Obama administration in securing documents that needed to be preserved.
Yet, the Department of Justice still used the Espionage Act, which does not explicitly prohibit the retention of classified documents, to sic the FBI on Trump’s home in a dramatic raid last August.

Remember when Bragg indicted Trump and the Republicans ran around saying what’s actually so bad is that Prosecutors around the country could indict the Bidens now.

The quicker you guys get up to speed the better. The Republican PARTY is against America. The Republican party and the Democrat party have the same goals. Trump was/is attempting to wrest the republican party from the bad guys. But nearly every other "Republican" likes things the way the y are. That's why congressmen and senators all end up millionaires after just a few years in office. Graft and corruption. They good cop/bad cop us in order to keep getting "votes" and support as blocks so nobody will interfere with their games.

I've been saying that since they stole the election from him. Once he left office, they showed that they weren't going to stop going after him. If anything, it's escalated. I figure that if they continue to be unsuccessful using illegal measures, they will simply have him killed. Under no circumstance, can they allow him to assume office again.

Many of them are in on the Trump takedowns, they just don’t want their fingerprints on it.
However, Trump will have/has “stalking horse”’ candidates in the field, but it’ll take time to identify them.
Also, Ramsaswamy appears to be a second tier candidate that doesn’t have his head up his ass.

Pence is a tradition minded dolt who did not use the power he had under the constitution to stay the electors’ vote until the issues could be worked out in the house or the vote done by constitutional congressional delegations. He treated his role the same way a priest spreads incense before the beginning of mass. He went thru the motions but had no imagination or 3 dimensional depth of character. He could have simply refused the count and sat pat over the uncounted uncertified electors’ votes. For not doing so, he showed himself to be no real friend of the country and it’s constitutional processes.
Unless you have some link that Pence is the homosexual that you have painted him as, then your remarks aren’t helpful. Pence has done enough damage by not acting when he had the power and moral responsibility to act under the constitution! Let that be his political epitaph!

They agree if you take a shot at a king it better be fatal. Stormy Daniels and perhaps the Mar-a-lago indictments are more like lawfare and political attacks. We’ve seen so much of this effort to destroy Trump going back to 2016, it really raises serious questions about justice and the rule of law. We don’t indict political enemies in America. That’s not our values. Except when we do it’s usually Democrat attacks. Same with weaponizing the IRS against conservative groups.
He would probably be at greater risk if re-elected. So much effort is expelled into fomenting hatred for all things Trump it’s likely to trigger some crazed leftist like the one who tried killing Republican congressmen at their ball game.
