California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Thursday proposed a 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution in what he describes as an effort to end America’s gun violence crisis.
“The gun lobby says we can’t stop the carnage America now experiences every day without violating the 2nd Amendment – that thoughts and prayers are the best we can do… that’s a lie,” Newsom said in a statement.

I agree that getting 38 states to ratify will be impossible, unless FBI types go on a mass-shooting spree in lots of Red States (and, sadly, that wouldn’t be out of character for them).
Even so, I do RESPECT Newsolini (LOL) for ADMITTING that the Second Amendment precludes serious gun control, since it means the following, whether he knows it or not:
1. He agrees with the meaning of the Second Amendment as written.
2. He agrees that the Constitution needs to be followed.
3. He agrees that if you want gun control in the form that most of the world has it, then you MUST amend the Constitution.
So, I’m good with what he’s doing, but still hope he fails. It’s really no different than if he demanded that CONGRESS pass a law requiring electric cars, for example, rather than supporting the Biden Administration doing it without a law...which is exactly what’s happening now.

I say we propose an amendment to restrict California Governor’s access to Dippity Do.
How about the 28a being about curbing violent people, beginning with the government?
