Ukraine’s main counteroffensive against Russia’s invasion appears to have begun, multiple Western news agencies have reported.
The long-discussed Ukrainian counteroffensive may be underway, although not heralded as such by the Ukrainian government, but rather by a series of no-name comments from military figures briefing to Western newspapers. Indeed, Ukraine insisted the counteroffensive was not yet happening as recently as yesterday, but they have also recently said they would not discuss it for strategic reasons.

I read the headline and the first thing that came to mind was the Tet Offensive. It was a US victory on the battlefield, but a huge loss at home on the propaganda front - thanks to the likes of people like Walter Cronkite.
You may be right about that. He was probably paid to not make a deal with Russia.
It’s all part of the NWO. Having said that, I still want both sides to lose.

Also FWIW it’s not going as well as Ukraine hoped/expected it appears.

I follow all sides of this and comment based on what I believe is reality, so no one come here and call me a russian troll. Just look at my posting history.
Personally I think Ukraine should have seized the undefended Russian Territory to the North. Then either force Russia to move their troops there and then start the counter attack. OR use the land grabbed from Russia to make a deal to get their land back.
Defense is easier/loses less lives than trying to take land that is well defended.
It already began a few days ago, but since they weren’t making any progress, ANYWHERE, they chose to not announce it.
If they come out now claiming it started, that’s because they have something somewhere to point to and claim they are successful.
Realize, this is a total PR war in our side. Every aspect from what Mr Z wears (action hero in olive drab), what they release, when, how they spin it, censorship of Russian media (blocked), social media again censoring derogatory stories, Google again ranking things so that what they favor comes up on top...
How big of a story is us blowing up Nordstream? Attempting to blow up another pipeline? The blowing up of a dam by Ukraine which has caused a humanitarian crisis? The largest mercenary army ever assembled since WWII which we are paying for? 214 dead US citizens fighting there and our government aiding and abetting in then being there? Ukraine recruiting for mercenaries out of their embassies and consulates in the West? US mercenaries caught by Russia?
Total control and one sided narrative.
Only a few even dare deviate from the party line.
But then you have folks taking about “Russian propaganda.” Hahaha
The "counteroffensive" is a fundraising event - so they telling everyone is a marketing feature.
Like 3 days late.
Many more thousands of young soldiers and innocent civilians are destined to suffer horrible deaths and maiming, just so Lindsey, Mitch, Schumer, and Pelosi can play more chessboard war games from the security of their Beltway enclaves.
Complete, utter, and ill-conceived madness.

Putin’s ego wont let Russia back down. Ukraine can’t back down because if they do, they die. So no end in sight.

It won’t end with Putin’s death either. Do people think Putin is the only Russian that runs things in Russia? There are people more hardline than Putin. He is considered somewhat moderate.
True. The only way this ends is if Russia breaks up...which is what the deep state wants. I’m not a russian troll or pro-russia in anyway. I’m just stating the facts.
They want Russia broken up so they can push their leftist agenda in all the states that form from it. But really they are creating a bigger problem for later (which will require more defense spending as more countries will have nukes).
This is not a comment about the combatants in this war. It is a comment about the reporting. Appears to be. May be. The wiggle words are found in so much news these days that the companies writing this should be named "The Daily Speculation" or the "Perhaps Times" or....
Not sure this would be in the same location, however one of the maps I had seen showing the front lines also noted that a Wagner group was operating well ahead of the line (for some reason). Not sure if this is where you are referencing as obviously, the front line is extensive.
No not there I’m talking about taking Russian Oblasts not taking back Ukraine territory. Look at Belgorod. That area. They have been having Russian opposition fighters (russians from the area that now went to Ukraine) going in and taking land. But then retreating. This is the area I’m referring to...actual Russian Territory.
From what I can glean from sifting through the propaganda from both sides, the meat grinder has two inputs... one for each side.
Which undefended Russian territory to the north do you think Ukraine should seize? Are you referring to the two oblasts directly north of Belgorod oblast, or some other territory in Russia that so far I have not seen mentioned?
I wouldn’t begin to guess what would go on there.

Tragic. It looks like AFU/NATO is conducting strong probing attacks to test the Russian lines.
Russian forward elements retreat to the main line of defense when pushed, then the Russian Arty, Air, and AGMs push the AFU probing elements back, then the Russians “counterattack” and put the forward elements back in place.
Without air-superiority and arty superiority, NATO/AFU is faced with conducting world-war 1 style suicide runs across open ground.
At least in WW2 you could use the cover of night or smoke to provide some concealment. Now, with night vision and thermal vision, smoke and darkness provide little protection.
