Right. Like liberal anarchists who ignore immigration laws. Or election laws they don’t like, or restrictions on abortion, or drug laws or…I think you get the picture.
I wanted to understand how this conflict between two neighbors started. My children never stepped on someone else's property without permission. I wanted to see why her children kept crossing the street to someone else's yard.
So, I pulled up a map of their addresses.
It turns out, both homes are divided into multiple apartments. The 58yo woman was living in an apartment, too, and someone else is listed as the owner of the property.
Next to the property where the 58yo woman lives, there is a large, open yard. But, most of that yard appears to belong to the property next door. There's no fence dividing that yard by property.
Across the street from that yard, the 35yo woman and her children lived. Zooming to street level, the "street" looks as narrow as a driveway. So, now I can see how her children kept ending up in the "field across the street."
Hard to believe the dispute arose over children playing in a field, if the 58yo woman doesn't even own the property where she was living and the yard belongs to the property next door.
“I am making an example of you to send a message out to people everywhere: that if you want to hurt another human being, you’d better make damn sure they’re the same color as you are.” - South Park
She has been dug in there so long that she considers the yard hers. Hearing the children playing in the yard got her very aggravated. So she tried to keep them out of their playground. That empty lot next to her.
When blacks kill blacks, which happens with regularity in big cities, it doesn’t even make the news. If some psycho waltzes into a mall or school and shoots it up, that’s all over the place. Politicians make speeches. Laws get proposed. But the weekly butcher’s bill on the South Side of Chicago goes unnoticed. When cops kill blacks, the entire country goes up in flames. But there are bloodbaths all over NYC in every neighborhood, usually black on black.
Blacks killing whites happens, but it’s not the rule, or the exception. It does make the news if it’s got an angle. Usually their paths don’t cross.
This crazy old b!tch’s killing her neighbor had an angle beyond just “black” vs. “white”. It was a long-standing neighbor dispute that got out of hand. But all the Daily Mail sees is skin color. In those terms, Miss Daisy at least lived near blacks and didn’t run off to cower in the suburbs. But apparently she had a few screws loose. Even if your neighbor kicks at your door looking for a confrontation, you don’t shoot them, no matter their race.
I think it may have to do with someone banging on the walls which sounds like what children would do, and which would make the older woman be unhappy to see them next to her residence. But we’ll only know if the news media bothers to go past the first report.
I only played on other people’s property if their children were playing with me.
Stop being a dope. I did not say ignore the laws or violate the laws. I said use the power of the jury box as a check on the unjust prosecution of citizens, just as the founders intended. Can your tiny brain comprehend this, you sad, sorry dolt.
The founders didn’t intend for us to legislate from the jury box. If you do that, how is that not essentially ignoring the law? And what say you to the great unwashed, brain dead liberal masses out there who believe that every single immigration law and drug law we have on the books is “unjust” or “racist”? It’s right for me but not for thee ain’t gonna cut it…
Yes because shooting someone through a closed door just screams self defense… (rolling eyes)
The founders definitely believed that juries in criminal trials played an important role in holding government to the principles of the Constitution. That is easily verifiable. You do however make a great point that such power is best wielded by a moral people and we are rapidly running out of those.
Maybe other children were playing with them. The yard isn’t the woman’s property. She overreacted to the children.
This is from the Florida statute; Justifiable Use of Force Title XLVI, Chapter 776
Section 776.013 Home protection; use or threatened use of deadly force; presumption of fear of death or great bodily harm.—
(a) The person against whom the defensive force was used or threatened was in the PROCESS of unlawfully and forcefully entering or had unlawfully and forcibly entered, a dwelling, residence, or occupied vehicle,
Note the use of the phrase “in the process of.” You do not have to wait for the successful completion of the unlawful entry.
Since the local public insisted that she be arrested overruling local law enforcement decision. And because the justice system is broken, they will find her guilty despite what the code says. Then the code means absolutely nothing. If the code had any weight she would have never been arrested and charged at all.
Just because it is technically legal to wave a loaded firearm around at people with your finger on the trigger doesn’t mean it is very intelligent to do so.
