They seem to forget that the Constitution and 1st Amendment specifically target the GOVERNMENT in terms of what rights people have and why they’re NOT allowed to violate.
This is why I believe it is very important to state that these opinions are Christian, or ‘religious’ at the very least. Then they can’t fire you, it would be the government discriminating against religion.
These folks have it exactly backwards. They seem to believe that having religious views aren’t allowed in government positions.

I’ve posted about this here for years, I met many queer men while I was in high school because my best friend’s father went a bit crazy when we were in school and all of a sudden was having these big parties full of gay guys at their huge home.
I’d get in trouble at the parties because I’d wait until they were all good and drunk and I’d say “So, you put your thing in another guy’s backside then take it out and he puts it in his mouth? Doesn’t that mean you like to eat $hit?” - That always got me thrown out of the party.
I was 16 and ALL these guys hit on me. They had no decency and if you got to really know them, they were pretty much all self-loathing. One thing they all needed was to be seen as someone “normal”.
Back then they were starting to organize and would have meetings that I would listen in on. Their basic goal was to get embedded in all media so they could control the way they were spoken and thought about. Their big concern was anyone actually saying anything about what they did physically. They never wanted to talk about that and spoke about “feelings” and “love” and that kind of stuff. Say something like my $hit comment and they went crazy.
It worked over the years, and they now control the media narrative regarding what is said about them because they now ARE the media.
The things we see happening today have been very well planned by people like Obama and others who want to kill the country from the inside out and by letting the outside in. By “outside in” I mean they want the as many devoids in positions of power and government as they can get. They also want as many criminals as possible from the outside let in because that fuels the chaos they love. That’s why the border is open - chaos.
Today they are doing their best to make men women in so many ways it is stunning. Time seems about up folks, but we will likely see a dead cat bounce where some people who are known attempt to push back but I fear it is too late.

if it matters so much what someone says when off duty, should he or she then be considered “on duty” 24/7?
this is especially true if anyone can be offended or triggered by just about anything these days, eg accidentally using a traditional pronoun instead of a woke pronoun.
a decade ago, i recall meeting a transgender person. i did not know how to refer to it. i just avoided the topic by not referring to it at all. after a few hours, i accidentally slipped and called it a him. i immediately apologized to it and let it know that i did not know how to refer to it in the third person. it responded that i was perfectly ok and it was not offended (there was no such thing as woke in the sense of people getting offended at innocent mistakes at the time).
in the above, i referred to a trans as an it. i actually still do not know the correct pronoun for a trans. sorry if anyone out there is offended and please let me know the correct term if there is one.
let’s say i am a firefighter. and let’s say i write a post to social media.
let’s say the post says “i support the first amendment.”
would i be fired?
let’s say that my post continues: “i do not support anyone who takes action that is prohibited by the first amendment.”
would i be fired?

i suspect that that is the point of the guy who got fired. he is making a test case to see what happens. no one is paying for his off duty time and his off duty time should be regulated only by the first amendment. i am glad that he has a lawyer.
i imagine that he could have gotten a lawyer early, and that lawyer advised that he would be protected by the first amendment.
The fascist left knows full well that the slightest push back could result in their whole house of cards falling apart so hence, they fight tooth and nail against America patriots and others trying to save this country. No mercy is their motto.
i visited a fire station a couple of weeks ago to take care of a personal matter (totally unrelated to this topic).
i recall chatting with a couple of firefighters on ordinary topics. i accidentally let them know during the course of the discussion (autos) that it seemed to me that autos are becoming more costly to keep and maintain in the last couple of years. soon, we were talking politics, but the firefighters immediately let me know that i was in a “TDS free zone” and so I did not have to worry about offending anyone about my viewpoint.
On reflection it seemed to me that fire stations are one of the last “TDS zones” remaining in local government. I know that my local government “took the knee” back when it was considered imperative that local government do so. Apparently my local firefighters did not get the complete woke message back then.
however, the line is probably where this guy is, in the first level of firefighter management. Once he is publicly humiliated, how many other firefighter captains would be willing to hold the line against converting their fire stations to wokism, and putting their family’s lives at risk?
what if a fire captain were to run for political office? would non-woke political campaign speeches get him fired?
imho the people of this town are correct to protest since it is a 1A issue and the town has no right to regulate speech of its employees 24/7, especially in s woke slanted manner.
The Transgenders, teachers’ unions et al. should be ashamed of themselves. No one has the right to poison children's’ minds with unhealthy lifestyles.
