I wonder if the 2 viewed the document. If so I wonder if it’s the smoking gun they are saying it is. Someone here mentioned needing to do something under the RICO act. I am not familiar with it but heard this happened in 2019 and the FBI and DOJ are stalling and dragging there feet because the statue of limitations is up in some months and if they make it past the 4 years they can’t be charged. Same with other charges of election fraud and who knows what else. They did this for the clintons on more than 1 occasion apparently. This is how they get by with so much. Just stall and drag feet. But if they do something with the RICO act then it extends the time period.. Can any of you brilliant people here explain to me what could happen.

Wray could care less. The only thing that would get his attention is to cut his funding and the Repukes are never going to do that.

It does mean something, perhaps not legally, but I doubt Wray really wants this on his resume. So I for one am glad McCarthy is going through with this and he better not back down.

No matter what their majorities are the Republicans never want to do anything to hold anyone accountable.

The Repukes are useless. Trump is up almost 40 pts and the Rats are sticking thr DOJ on him to have him arrested at all costs. The Repukes can’t even get around to impeaching Biden

Mayorkas is the official most deserving of immediate impeachment. The things he has done are so egregious that holding impeachment hearings on him would be low lying fruit, so to speak. But the Republican congress simply will not do it. They don’t do accountability, even if only for largely ethical and symbolic reasons. And the Democrats know this better than anyone.

Yup, they never use the leverage they have so they’ll never get anything done. I for one would cut all funding to the military unless all charges against Trump are dropped. Start with holding up any and all funding to Ukraine. Play for keeps or don’t play at all. Everything they care about, that’s what you stop. Don’t take any media questions, let them write whatever lies they want. I really should be speaker of the house.

+1, yep, they should have started impeaching Mayorkis soon after taking the majority.

It’s always tomorrow, or next week, or next month. The democrats act swiftly and come down like a ton of bricks on anyone who objects to or hinders their investigations. The GOP whiffles and whines and accomplishes nothing.

Congress can order that the perp be travel restricted for the next 2 days to interior USA. He’s a flight risk.

I thought such charges against Wray were filed last week.
McCarthy is still just talking about it?

Hilarious. With this on his resume, Wray improves his chance to become the next Attorney General. And Trump would probably be the man to appoint him as such!

Good points all. Republicans have no concept of playing to win. They are weakness personified.

If you were a Democrat would you have any respect for them?

A contempt of Congress should invoke some immediate consequences.

At minimal a suspension. Loss of security clearance.

Wray does not want this, he's not a crazed ideologue like Mayorkis who could care less. Wray thinks this will tarnish his reputation and the FBI, and that will bother him. He believes this is a start to holding the FBI's feet to the fire and he'd prefer to avoid that.
