Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis suspended North Miami Beach Mayor Anthony DeFillipo II on Monday after the mayor was arrested on felony charges related to voting irregularities.
In an executive order, the Republican governor said Mr. DeFillipo “is prohibited from performing any official act, duty, or function of public office; from receiving any pay or allowance,” effective immediately.
Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle said Mr. DeFillipo, a Democrat, cast ballots in August, October and November 2022 in elections for a North Miami Beach district in which he was not legally qualified to vote.

They’ll find a way. We’re dealing with some mentally unwell people here.
As far as the left is concerned, this is nothing but voter suppression.
I am a Trump supporter, but I can give credit where due. Good move on the governors part here.
Quite a few Florida voter fraud defendants have had the charges dropped in the last 6 months. I expect this Mayor will argue for similar lax treatment.
BTW - the pictures of those who allegedly voted illegally (and then had charges dropped) DID NOT look Amish or Norwegian IMO.
“good job DeSantis. got to find these people and put them jail.”
Absolutely. If these people aren’t incarcerated, the election fraud will only get worse and worse.
It’s a start…
Good job Governor!
LOL, who’s the Harry Reid of Free Republic?
Did any of you bother to read what this story is all about? The suspension is in response to charges filed against the mayor last week for voting in the wrong precinct. The Dade County Attorney’s office claims that he moved to another district and is no longer eligible to vote in that precinct. He claims that he has not moved and still resides in that district. The charge is a third-degree felony.
Did DeSantis do the right thing? I don’t know. Maybe. I suppose it depends on whether the guy is guilty or not. But either way, it’s a nothingburger. Anyone trying to exaggerate the significance of this story by portraying it as a serious effort to address systemic voter fraud is being disingenuous.
I posted it to keep Harry Reid incarnate informed. He likes to talk about Florida election integrity and Florida fiscal health. Well, not exactly talk, but lie.
Surely yew know the person.
