Russia's defences could be 'more fragile than thought', western officials have warned amid growing signs that Ukraine's counter-offensive has begun.
Ukrainian forces have advanced in Novodonetsk by up to five or six kilometres, it has emerged. Officials claim 'fierce battles are going on' for control of the settlement.
American and European military officials advising Kyiv have claimed that Kremlin defensive lines may be fragile, an insider told The Economist today.
Semyon Pegov, a prominent Kremlin-affiliated 'milblogger', confirmed that Ukraine had 'some success' in an attack in Novoselivka-Ugledar and claimed updates from the Russian-controlled region were 'more and more alarming every hour'.
Pegov, commonly known under his alias Wargonzo, said the war is 'heating up' and that today's attack was 'much more serious than yesterday'.
Ukrainian forces punched through Russian defensive lines in southeast Ukraine for a second day, with Russian officials saying today that Moscow's forces have foiled at least one assault.
Kyiv said their forces were indeed increasing offensive operations and making gains, but suggested some of the Russian announcements were misinformation as speculation grows about a widely anticipated counteroffensive after more than 15 months of war.
Vladimir Rogov, an official in the Russia-backed administration of Ukraine's partly occupied Zaporizhzhia province, said fighting resumed on its border with the eastern Donetsk province on Monday after Russian defenses beat back a Ukrainian advance the previous day.
'The enemy threw an even bigger force into the attack than yesterday (Sunday),' and the new attempt to break through the front line was 'more large-scale and organised,' Rogov said, adding: 'A battle is underway.'

Russia has stated numerous times in the past four years that they would not resort to a nuclear first strike, however, should dumb old Biden think he can win a nuclear exchange Putin has said they would respond against every nation in the Anti-Russia collation that would destroy all their capital cities - Russia at least can move from the Urals to the Pacific whereas the EU will be finished along with a bunch of US cities.
Now as a republican and conservative, it would not hurt my feelings in the least should a bunch of US cities run by democrats and Joe Biden disappear. We won’t have to worry about BLM before the next election cycle or payments to former slaves for that matter.
Better that Russia defends herself and destroys the Communist West than we conservatives be forced to continue dealing with Wokesters.

The long announced Ukrainian counter offensive has started. New Ukrainian units, never seen before, have come to the front.
The attack was launched by Ukraine for political reasons under pressure from its 'western' sponsors. Militarily it is unlikely to become successful but it will eat away at whatever is left of Ukraine's military capabilities.
Attacks happened all around the front. In the north towards Belgograd, to the east and, with the most forces, towards the south. There was so far little to no success in any of the attacks.
The daily report by the Russian Ministry of Defense list as Ukrainian losses over the last 24 hours 910 soldiers, 16 tanks, 33 armored combat vehicles/infantry fighting vehicle and some 30 trucks
So far only the most forward positions of Russian troops have been attacked. There are two to three well organized defense lines behind those. The Russians can fall back whenever needed and let the artillery and air force destroy their oncoming enemies.

Time will tell—BUT It looks like the attack is on at Last—we will not know the outcome for a while. I believe we will see some Ukrainian victories and lands taken until the whole thing runs out of steam. This is a very dangerous time for both sides. Now is not the time to cheer—its like Gettysburg on the First Day.

Listen or read very carefully. Becasue Russia is going to burn Ukraine in the Donbass and destroy the Uke armies. Once these are finished, Russia will sever that turd called Ukraine into a rump state. Zenlisky better hope the Russians get to Kiev before the troops fall back because they will looking piano-boy’s life.
It ain’t about “already”. Its about crushing that NATO proxy force in Ukraine and then taking the industrial region from Ukraine and making it Russia because when you negotiage in good faith like Angie Merkle on the MINSK II or Boros Johnson then you get dealth the cards you will then play.
