Hospitalization risk exists as only 20% of US adults receive booster dose: ‘Uptake has been quite low’
Adults who aren’t current on their COVID-19 vaccine booster doses may have "relatively little remaining protection" against hospitalization compared to those who haven’t been vaccinated at all, suggests a new study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Dr. Shana Johnson, a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician in Scottsdale, Arizona, was not involved in the CDC study but reviewed its findings.
The good news, Johnson said, is that the bivalent mRNA vaccine protects against the most severe COVID-19 outcomes, including hospitalization and critical disease (ICU admission and death), Johnson said. The not-so-good news: The durability or duration of protection was not great, she noted.

I had read some time ago that they are wanting to make the flu shots MRNA type shots as well. I don't know if they have, or if they still plan to do that; but, I will not be taking a flu shot ever again, just to be safe.
You’re right - I have had the same observation - not my wife, who also never took a flu shot. But with friends and family who have and can’t claim any demonstrable statistical health advantage whatsoever.
This has led me to another profound observation as well:
The flu shots have been around for decades, right? With hundreds of millions of test subjects taking them and hundreds of millions of people not taking them. Yet, with all this wealth of data available for statistical analyze, have you ever seen a single study proving flu shots make a difference?
If the data showed they protect people from the flu, wouldn’t Big Pharma be shouting it from the rooftops in order to sell their shots? Of course they would.
Yet, I have not seen any such statistical proof - which can mean only one thing.
My all-time favorite from “Airplane” was Lloyd Bridges: “I picked the wrong week to give up sniffing glue!”
He explained it was corporate policy. Then I explained that’s why so many people have zero trust in medicine, including me. He’s been much more open with me since. He pulls his face diaper down when he is alone with me in the examination room. I still think he is gutless. Real doctors should have banded together and revolted against their huge corporate overlords.

The antibodies generated by the “boosters” are not protective and do not prevent transmission. The reason they like to use antibodies to measure “protection” is because they are easy to measure.
Measuring T cell encoding against SARS CoV 2 is possible but not practical on a large scale.

I do not think I will get my cats vaccinated again. They are ten years old and have been on a perfect vaccine schedule. But, their vet (my friend) just retired and moved away. Any other vet is a long way from here and I do not want to traumatize the cats any more.

Everyone I know who is for medical freedom and informed consent supports Dr McCullough. The R establishment which hates him here in TX just impeached our excellent atty general based on 7 year old accusations. We’re heading into special session and the most conservative R is re-filing the bill to stop anyone, including businesses, from mandating shots as a condition of employment. It is going to happen. Governor Abbott probably does not support medical freedom - after all most reps in both parties get Pf donations - but he’s also leaving the border open (in spite of saying otherwise), did nothing about TX being the #1 state for gender mutilation surgeries, and has not supported his embattled AG. Nope. But once I took the flu shot every year and every year I got the flu. I stopped taking them many years ago and since have only gotten the flu once.
""Flu vaccine" is welfare for Big Pharma. It is mostly ineffective and bogus, just like the Covid "vaccine" - except not as dangerous. Now Big Pharma and their government money enablers are combining the two bogus shots together and doubling up on their cash flow while making it more dangerous to the partakers.
Right. There are a few things medical science has gotten very good at - hearts mostly. If I ever have heart failure, I will be very glad to avail myself of their expertise.
My rule of thumb is NEVER let yourself get fear-mongered.
The real scientists are quiet and humble - they just lay out the facts with no agenda. If they are peddling dire warnings - they are not real scientists.
Note to Democrats: Please get every booster they recommend. You want to be “safe”, right?

How can that be done? What kind of test is it?
I have some health issues that cause me to be very reticent to inject ANYTHING into my body because of the likelihood of a bad reaction. I've had reactions to enough vaccines in the past, tetanus and the pneumonia vaccines, to cause me to decide against anything that is not literally life saving.
I will not take the risk of taking a vaccine that could cause a life threatening allergic reaction.
I've had Covid twice and it was no worse than other flus or colds I've had in the past, but would like to be able to have some test results showing the long term immunity.
The commercial labs that offer this service are unreliable and expensive.
It’s really a research test that can only be done, accurately, by a few labs in the country which are not set up for clinical testing.
