NATO-trained units will serve as tip of spear in Ukraine’s counteroffensive
The Washington Post ^ | June 4, 2023 | Isabelle Khurshudyan and Kamila Hrabchuk

Posted on 06/04/2023 3:56:22 AM PDT by Timber Rattler

When Ukraine’s long-awaited counteroffensive finally begins, the fight will be led by brigades armed not only with Western weapons but also Western know-how, gleaned from months of training aimed at transforming Ukraine’s military into a modern force skilled in NATO’s most advanced warfare tactics.

As other Ukrainian units were fighting to expel the Russian occupiers from the country’s east and south, the brand-new 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade was preparing for the next phase of war from a classroom at a NATO base in Germany.

The brigade’s leadership trained with computers that simulated situations they might face in real life. Deputy commander Maj. Ivan Shalamaha and others planned their assaults and then let the program show them the results — how their Russian enemies might respond, where they could make a breakthrough and where they would suffer losses.

“You understand the overall picture, how it works,” Shalamaha said. “You understand where and what your shortcomings were. And we pay attention to what we failed to do during this simulation.”

Now the war games are over. The 47th brigade and other assault units have been armed with Western weapons, including Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, and relocated to a secret location closer to the front line. During a recent visit by Washington Post journalists, the soldiers were waiting for the order to charge ahead to retake a large swath of Ukrainian territory and tip the war back in Kyiv’s favor.

The counteroffensive will be the biggest test yet of the U.S.-led strategy of giving the Ukrainians weapons and training to fight like an American army might — but on their own.

Small amount of money spent and the Russians are stalemated.
They can’t take Ukraine.

WRONG!

1. The $200 billion we've spent may be small to you -- not me!

2. See map below. Pink = Ruskies now control. "Stalemating" seems to be working out pretty well for Putin!

Putin says, "Let's have more of that stalemating!"

Should the “2nd largest military” needed to mobilize to defeat little ole Ukraine.

One might make a similar statement with regard to the US and Afghanistan.

Quite true about a “fact” that is NOT always a fact. This recalls the term invented and used as chiron scroll “update” 15 years plus ago. On CNN:

they used a presented segment with followup and accompanying chiron scroll on the screen that repeated every 15 minutes.

The term they invented (or stole) was FACTOID. A made up word which would translate from its two parts 1.) Fact- a true description or statement or definition and 2.) -OID a derivational suffix that converts a noun into an adjective. From the Greek- meaning “likeness or form (as in a comparative).

Two dictionary definitions:
factoid
făk′toid
noun

A piece of unverified or inaccurate information that is presented in the press as factual, often as part of a publicity effort, and that is then accepted as true because of frequent repetition.A brief, somewhat interesting fact.An inaccurate statement or statistic believed to be true because of broad repetition, especially if cited in the media.

The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition.

And in Merriam-Webster:
1: an invented fact believed to be true because it appears in print 2: a briefly stated and usually trivial fact

A word said to be coined by Norman Mailer(!) in his 1973 book on Marilyn Monroe: “ “facts which have no existence before appearing in a magazine or newspaper, creations which are not so much lies as a product to manipulate emotion in the Silent Majority.”

The so called Ukraine opposition and the “offensive” that is well financed but not occurring because it can NOT be launched== this is repeated across all paid media partners and imitators for clicks monetization and “trends”. All of which is a freaking LIE. For the benefit of the kickbacks to the various world armorers and profiteers, as well as the puppeteers of the Soros Open “society”” a@@holes and their globalist new world order Neo-Socialist/Marxists who closely ally themselves with the engine of cheap labor of human debris- Communist China.

Enjoy. Rinse Repeat. This sent to all the neo fakir trolls here paid to post and repost and say crap that is just not true in any fashion. Formed by carnival barkers for the globalist circus.

Good luck holding that territory for the next 30 years lol.

You have an enraged Ukrainian population that will IED and sniper the Russians for the next 50 years.

And....the Russians utterly failed to take Kyiv...

Okay! They also failed to take a host of other lands like London, Berlin, Paris, Rome, and Warsaw, along with Kyiv.

Hey Timber, that's 'cause they never tried.

Ruskies didn't want those places. Just wanted the 20% of Ukeland they now control.

That's what winning looks like!

To: Timber Rattler; All

So, while the country is being absolutely destroyed, these guys were being trained in small unit tactics, fire and maneuver, room clearing, etc etc etc...sleeping in nice beds, comfortable barracks or hotels, good food and drink, women, on demand water and electricity....all while their countrymen were being blown to bits.

Isn’t that wonderful for them.

Ha Ha Ha Ha .... that is fantastic

I think you have the Ruskies confused with the US. You know. Like we did in....
-Vietnam
-Iraq
-Afghanistan
-Syria

Oh, but that's okay! We've got a military that has the best the world can offer in LBGQTXYZRWBC training and a leader that can't stand vertical for two days in a row.

And then take a look at how the Ruskies took care of the Chechens when they tried that crap.

If history is an indicator, the Ruskies will be just fine with their win.

That is not a lie!

You're lying!

Russia did NOT take: London, Berlin, Paris, Rome, and Warsaw, or Kyiv 'cause that was never their plan!

Putin is winning by controlling and annexing over 20% of Ukeland.

Get over it!

How much do you want to bet the coming fall, winter, spring, summer offensive is a miserable failure that fails to take back any significant territory? It's time for you to put up or shut up.

This comment will yet another example of how little credibility you and your ilk for anyone that knows the truth about what's been going on in Ukraine.

And, you're either going to get on the Trump train or get in the tracks so it can splatter your sorry ass.

Dark Truth Behind Ukraine's NATO-Armed Border Raids + Cost of Attrition Continues to Mount

Update on the conflict in Ukraine for June 3, 2023

- Ukrainian cross-border operations are spearheaded by militants identified by even the Western media as N*z**; MO< - Ukraine has increasingly relied on terrorism following the loss of Bakhmut and a growing missile and drone campaign being carried out by Russia across Ukraine;

- New “security assistance” package from the US Department of Defense to Ukraine includes munitions reflecting Ukraine’s growing shortage of air defense capabilities;

- Talk of tanks and warplanes are admittedly for Ukraine’s use in the distant future, not for the upcoming offensive;

That’s really funny coming from a Kremlin troll who, among many other false things, claimed that Russia would never give up Kherson.

which are not so much lies as a product to manipulate emotion in the Silent Majority.

Being false with the intent to deceive is in fact a lie, and it is so much more than a lie. It is a fraud - so much for the moral compass of the great Norman Mailer.

Requiring you to be factually and logically consistent is not a straw man. It's merely beating you about the head and shoulders for your own logical shortcomings, which uncorrected mean you don't deserve a better refutation than the fact that your own arguments don't add up. You can't have an army that has utterly destroyed and defeated the enemy and at the same time need a fresh new one to counterattack because the thoroughly beaten defeated army cannot be extirpated from the territory he holds which you claim as yours overriding the democratic right of determination of the citizens of those territories.

Which also makes you a fair weather democrat - you are willing to force people to be a liberal democracy at gunpoint so long as they vote your way.

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2023/06/bidens_foreign_policy_bungling_is_creating_a_massive_longterm_crisis.html

Will Schryver, a defense analyst who is critical of the Ukraine war’s conduct, tweets slightly more optimistic US production figures:

The Pentagon proudly announced that US artillery ammunition production is now up to 30k rounds PER MONTH, and they hope to double that by 2025. The Russians average about 25k rounds of artillery ammo PER DAY, with surge capacity to 75k rounds per day. And now the US is begging Japan to produce explosives for them, in order to supply the demand for US artillery shell production.
