A reporter and 2024 presidential hopeful Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) shared a tense exchange during the Florida governor’s first campaign event in New Hampshire on Thursday after the reporter asked him why he did not take questions from voters during the event.
“Why not take any questions from voters, though?” the reporter, identified as the Associated Press’s Steve Peoples, asked as DeSantis mingled with the crowd, posing for pictures with the event’s attendees.
“Governor, how come you’re not taking questions from voters?” the reporter asked again, prompting a response from DeSantis, who explained that he was now very clearly talking to voters who were approaching him.

Trump is a petulant child and braggert. Talk about not a good look. He was a good president. He could have been a great one if he didn’t shoot him self in the foot every time he did something good. He is now unelectable due to his lack of support among independents and swing voters who will unfortunately decode the election. if the republicans nominate him we will lose again. Bigly.
Trump would have been funny about it.
It wouldn’t be like he lost his temper.
“Trump is a petulant child and braggert.”
Trump is a fighter - the only modern president to actually take on the Uniparty, and have some success doing so - certainly more than any of his predecessors. For that matter he’s the only president to even acknowledge the Uniparty and explain to voters all the harm it’s caused our nation over the years.
Trump’s ‘antics’ are effective which is the main reason he engages in them, and why his supporters aren’t bothered by them. A petulant child couldn’t have accomplished all that Trump’s accomplished in life.
“[Trump] is now unelectable due to his lack of support among independents and swing voters who will unfortunately decode the election.”
I don’t believe that. I believe Trump’s more popular now than even 2020, when he got 10M more votes than 2016 but had the election stolen from him.
We will find out. There is a long way to go to the first primary and even longer to the nomination. A lot will happen between now and then. But don’t underestimate how those not on the hard right feel about Trump
So, sickness.
I have no idea what you mean.
I don’t personally know the poster you were arguing with, but from all the posts I’ve read, he or she has been passionate in their beliefs, articulate, and reasoned.
The name calling and insults have gotten out of hand. Its ridiculous. And thankfully some have finally been reported to the moderators. These Particular individuals are on the DeSantiss side of the argument. Its pretty bad when you descend into insults and snide cuts just to score points, but when you start calling people cultists un american, or wanting them “culled” from FR because they are less than human ( I cleaned up the language somewhat and the meaning is a little changed. It was far worse), then you have crossed the line.
There is one poster here on the DeSantiss side who made such an insult that I did something I normally dont. I responded with, What an ass. Jim Robinson, the site owner, responded to me with, well stated.
There is a high correlation between religious belief and conservatism. Conservatism in the U.S. will not survive if Christianity doesn’t. That wasn’t the point of my argument anyway.
The point was that I get the impression that Trump is not exactly comfortable with the religious right. Even if it is justified, it puts him in a position of having to be insincere since within the Republican party it forms the largest single constituency.
I’ve heard Trump mention God in many speeches.
