Gov. Katie Hobbs on Friday vetoed legislation that would have outlawed red-light cameras in Arizona.
...
studies have shown increases in rear-end collisions due to drivers abruptly stopping when a light turns yellow
...
Sen. Wendy Rogers, R-Flagstaff, said the cameras are "cash cows" for municipalities and the companies that operate them.
"Cities and towns use the photo radar scheme to collect millions of dollars from unwitting statewide drivers each year. This traffic citation scam enables third-party companies to exploit Arizona drivers,

Rogers said in a hearing that the companies who operate red-light cameras keep roughly 75% of the fines incurred. Another 10% of the money received, Rogers notes, goes to a political program that contributes to political campaigns if a candidate pledges to abide by Arizona Clean Elections program guidelines.
The bill passed with bipartisan support but not enough to override the veto.
democrat = surveillance state
She is toast. Those things are hated by everyone. And they are spy cameras which have a lot more capabilities than traffic control which are pretty amazing
The Constitution gives us the right to face our accuser in a court of law. Civil laws which contain criminal penalties are double jeopardy violations of the 6th Amendment.
The red light camera companies have been caught in payoffs all over the country. Follow the money.
Arizona voted for her, they deserve what they get....
When does the recall petition for Hobbs start circulating? I want to see what Arizona is really made of.
My wife. She slows down for green lights and brakes hard for yellows.
Paradise Valley has only one business ... Red Light Cameras.
Hobbs screws Arizonians again.
“The red light camera companies have been caught in payoffs all over the country. Follow the money”
Illinois should be sued for every ill gotten nickel they stole from motorists with their kickback fueled redlight camera binge.
They did NOT!
The way it works is they put in the red light camera and then shorten the yellow time which increases the revenue which is the whole point of these things.
Well, she never won in the first place.
She doesn’t have to fear “the voters” because she has ballots and knows how to cheat.

I’m hoping you’ve got a pretty damned black sense of humor, and you’re not that stupid.
A couple times a year, I visit my family up in Delaware and SE PA. And just about everytime. I come home to a beautiful pic of my pickup’s license plate. With a nice little ‘civil’ violation for running a red light in Delaware or speeding on the PA turnpike. I go with the flow. So yes. This is a major cash cow and should be illegal. And I tell my folks, this and other reasons are why I like Texas!
In Mexico a lot of towns have a setup where the green light will flash for 20 seconds or so before the yellow. That gives you plenty of time to decide whether you’ll have to stop. I really liked it and wish that U.S. lights worked like that.
Around here a yellow light means floor it, and it’s common to see cars going through intersections at 50 or better a couple of seconds into the red. If I’m the first car waiting to go at a cross street, I’ll take a good look both ways before moving after I get the green, including a check for pedestrians.
YELLOW LIGHTS NEED TO BE A BIT LONGER in the cycle.

Coming to a Blue state near you.
Now, watch the tail-end accidents increase.
Then, along come The Attorneys.
Shocking.....
