Survey: Donald Trump Trounces Ron DeSantis on Major Issues
Breitbart ^ | 31 May 2023 | HANNAH BLEAU

More Republicans express confidence in former President Donald Trump to handle several major issues in the country — from energy to China relations — than Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, the latest Morning Consult data found.

The latest Morning Consult survey found Trump leading DeSantis by 34 points in the Republican primary race. A majority, 56 percent, support him, compared to 22 percent who support DeSantis. No other individual listed garners over five percent support.

Morning Consult found Trump with another advantage as well: Republicans tend to trust him more on a wide range of issues. For example, 71 percent of Republicans said they trust Trump to handle the economy, compared to 19 percent who said the same of DeSantis. Nearly three-quarters, 72 percent, trust Trump to handle relations with China, while 18 percent said the same of DeSantis.

Similarly, 71 percent trust Trump on national security and 69 percent trust him on foreign policy, compared to 19 percent who said the same for DeSantis on national security and 20 percent who trust him on foreign policy.

Bad news for neocon dim wits and operatives here. The base of the party overwhelming trusts Trump on foreign policy and national security issues.

Well, first provide proof that Trump supported the deal.

You can’t, so another DeSanctimonious supporter lies about President Trump.

How so unexpected of you.

Scenes from a celebration of the same-sex marriage law — at Mar-a-Lago - “We are fighting for the gay community, and we are fighting and fighting hard,” Donald Trump told a Log Cabin Republicans gala.
Thursday night’s Log Cabin Republicans’ “Spirit of Lincoln” gala in the main ballroom of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago beachfront club was a joyous celebration of gay rights and — in a case of ironic timing — the historic same-sex marriage law signed by President Joe Biden days earlier. The long-planned event in honor of the conservative LGBTQ organization’s 45th anniversary brought in Republican notables like former Ambassador Ric Grenell, Rep. Kat Cammack (R-Fla.), former State Department spokesperson Morgan Ortagus, who emceed the evening in a feathered turquoise gown, and former GOP gubernatorial candidate from Arizona Kari Lake, who was swarmed by guests eager to meet her and take a photo. But the main attraction, obviously, was Trump. He received a standing ovation after delivering an enthusiastic affirmation of gay rights not often heard in the GOP. “We are fighting for the gay community, and we are fighting and fighting hard,” the former president and 2024 candidate said. “With the help of many of the people here tonight in recent years, our movement has taken incredible strides, the strides you’ve made here is incredible.”

Trump hits DeSantis on abortion, suggests 6-week abortion ban is ‘too harsh’Former President Trump attacked Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for his abortion stance on Monday, suggesting in an interview that Florida's six-week ban was "too harsh."
Trump made the statement in a wide-ranging interview with The Messenger published on Monday. Trump refused to elaborate on his own stance regarding abortion, however, instead claiming to have heard that pro-life voters opposed DeSantis' bill. "He has to do what he has to do," Trump said when asked about Florida's six-week ban. "If you look at what DeSantis did, a lot of people don't even know if he knew what he was doing. But he signed six weeks, and many people within the pro-life movement feel that that was too harsh."

What did Trump have to do with the deal?

DeSantis' supporter Thomas Massie was all for it.

Trump keeps his word. He put judges on courts that overturned Roe. He literally let Christian and conservative legal organizations create the list of judges he put on courts.

Establishment Republicans always make promises on social issue that never keep, especially on judges. And, DeSantis is owned by the establishment.

It's a matter of trust. Trump keeps his word and the establishment doesn't.

“Well, first provide proof that Trump supported the deal.”

Tell us why Trump won’t give the deal his support of condemn it?

You condemn Ron for staying silent on 2020 but can Trump stay quiet and you’re fine with it?

Trump is a politician too. They stay quiet when it is in their interest. It’s the nature of the game.

Unfortunately, odds favor Trump being hamstrung and largely prevented from campaigning in 2024 due to all the bogus court cases being brought forth, including potentially being convicted and sentenced to incarceration. Say what you will about martyrdom, it WILL affect his ability to campaign.

I wonder what people will think of the McCarthy/Trump debt deal?

*****************

This isn’t a Trump debt deal, it’s a House, Senate, & White House deal. A deal cooked up weeks ago.

What do people around the country think?
Most won’t give a rip as long their economic situation doesn’t get worse.

What does the majority on Free Republic think?

They hate this deal passionately.(Rightly so, the deal stinks)

I don’t have proof that Trump supported the deal…but he enabled McCarthy to be speaker….just like he did Wray, Milley, etc.

If Trump hadn’t backed McCarthy, we wouldn’t have this deal. He owns a part of it.

As usual, a DeSanctimonious (Mr "God created a fighter on the 8th day") supporter twists and stretches the truth to say something negative about President Trump.

Nonsense. The Republican establishment had the votes to get someone that would make this deal as speaker.

There isn't another candidate, other maybe Ramaswamy, that would have even raised an object over whoever the establishment wanted.

DeSantis absolutely bought and paid for by the establishment.

Trump is obviously feared by the establishment because they have tried to destroy him for eight years.

Feared by the establishment….except for the fact that most of them can thank him for their jobs….Wray, Milley, McCarthy, Ronna, Fauci, Bolton,…etc.
