In all of these “newly released emails”, “recently discovered documents”, “secret audio”, etc... the article never describes the chain of custody and WHO decided that precisely in May of 2023, this information needs to be disseminated to the masses.

Is the head of the national archives the president’s immediate supervisor? The attorney general? Special counsel? FBI director?
No, the president is the top dog, delegates his power to subordinates and can reverse that at will
He didn’t, but he COULD declassify tactics, the existence of a secret weapon program, etc.
The President is NOT required to get the agreement or permission of ANYONE to declassify something. The Pentagram, the CIA, etc cannot stop him. His decision is beyond court challenge.
If he did something for a corrupt reason, such as in response to a bribe, he could be impeached.
But the president alone has full authority to declassify, and he does not have to follow a process. That is for those of lower rank who think something should be.
