The Ukrainian air force has been ... busy. With a pre-war force of just 125 or so fighters and bombers, the Ukrainian air arm defended the sky over Kyiv during the heady early hours of Russia’s assault on the city in the spring of 2022 and then, after that assault collapsed, shifted its attention to the front lines in eastern and southern Ukraine.
In 15 months of hard fighting, the air force has lost at least half of its pre-war jet inventory—and scores of pilots. But amid this violence, one small community had been relatively idle: the section of the 7th Bomber Regiment that handles the service’s reconnaissance missions. The air space over the Ukraine battlefield has become too dangerous for manned recon flights.
Working closely with the United Kingdom, the Ukrainian air force has equipped at least some of the recon section—which flies two-seat, supersonic Sukhoi Su-24MRs from the regiment’s base in western Ukraine—with British-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles.

All the pre-war bombers and recon planes—as many as 16 of the former and nine of the latter—belonged to the 7th Bomber Regiment at Starokostiantyniv air base.

When the U.K. government decided, back in February, that it would supply the Ukraine government with its first air-launched cruise missiles, the 7th Bomber Regiment’s Su-24s—specifically, the Su-24MRs—were obvious candidates for carrying the munitions.

Perhaps you should tell that to the Russians. They violated Minsk II by not withdrawing their forces and by not handing over the border to the Ukrainians as were required by that agreement. The Ukrainians, on the other hand, actually did pass a law for Donbas autonomy and were preparing for a referendum. It was the Russians who blocked the latter because they would not be conducting it and thus could not guarantee a 99% Soviet style approval.

On a bit brighter note, it should be mentioned that while Ukraine has had destroyed roughly half it’s pre-war fighter force, it has replenished that half or slightly more with parts from its allies, either refurbishing craft not flyable (evidently there are STILL some of these scattered around Europe) or piecing together jets from parts.
My own best guess is that the StormShadows are basically a test of Ukrainian restraint: They will not be “decisive” in the struggle, and many missiles and / or their aircraft launchers may be destroyed. But, SOME will be successfully launched. If Ukraine resists the temptation to hit targets in Russia with them, that opens the door to ATACMS, and ATACMS would be a large headache for Russian forces, especially when it comes to holding Crimea.
How this plays out remains to be seen...

I know more about these things than you ever will. The problem is that Russians or Russian speakers were not being killed for being Russian or Russian speakers. There are millions of Russian speakers INSIDE Ukrainian territory. MILLIONS. They’re alive and well considering there’s a war going on.

You really are an idiot. There were no bans on Russian language materials UNTIL AFTER RUSSIA INVADED in 2014 (ban past in 2018 in Lviv). Those bans started in the West of Ukraine where most people spoke Ukrainian as their first language. The ban was written to last only until the illegal occupation ended. The ban was overturned by a constitutional court in 2019.
Then there was a 2019 parliament passed law strengthening Ukrainian as the national language, but no specific move against Russian UNTIL AFTER THE SECOND RUSSIAN INVASION IN 2022.
If the Russians had never invaded Ukraine in 2014 and 2022, none of this would have happened.

Here’s how I see it: I’m not going to believe a person that calls himself Vladimir, since that’s the name of the leaders of both countries.
But I will look at what OTHER COUNTRIES believe. And, other than symbolic, meaningless, votes, THEY BELIEVE RUSSIA, or they would have joined the sanctions, starting with India, China, and BRICS, but also most of the rest of the world. You can try lying about that too, but facts are facts.
So, feel free to keep trying to change the history, but too bad, you guys should have ANSWERED THE PHONE in Dec. 2021, as that’s what the rest of the world sees - they see you guys as people that are SO ARROGANT that they no longer want to be associated with you guys.
