Donald Trump surely has his own regrets, expressed through his repeated disowning of Antony Fauci, Deborah Birx, and many of the bureaucrats who we now know colluded to provide him with incorrect information.

DeSantis has indeed engaged in a shift in narrative which has been quite disingenuous - he could have actually stood on his actual record as an accomplishment to campaign on - but instead he is trying to use it as a way to hit Trump instead. That is not helpful to anyone, including himself - self defeating and is bad for the political dialog. DeSantis’ all of the above, aggressive approach allowed Florida to beat the pandemic sooner than many other states and open sooner than other states - that should be his story, not an alternate history designed entirely to attack Trump.
This article, however, takes a great deal of liberties with the truth in its own right to create a web of conspiracies to create another narrative. Shame on the author - and on you for posting.

Trump looks like a fool trying to claim he and Fauci aren’t responsible for the nationwide lockdowns, as if people don’t remember. For those few who don’t, here’s the exact timeline with regard to Florida.
- March 16, 2020: Trump issues his nationwide lockdown guidelines “Two Weeks To Flatten The Curve”
- March 30, 2020: Two weeks later, Trump extends his nationwide lockdown guidelines, indefinitely
- April 1, 2020: Only AFTER Trump extended his lockdown guidelines indefinitely, AND personally called DeSantis to persuade him, did DeSantis agree to limited lockdowns that were LESS than what Trump requested nationally
Here’s Trump’s actual announcement from March 16, in his own words, well before he had to call DeSantis and persuade him to cooperate:
TRUMP: “This afternoon, we’re announcing new guidelines for every American to follow ... The White House Task Force meets every day and continually updates guidelines ... we’ve made the decision to further toughen the guidelines and blunt the infection now. We’d much rather be ahead of the curve than behind it, and that’s what we are.

- Work to engage in schooling from home when possible.
- Avoid gathering in groups of more than 10 people.
- Avoid discretionary travel.

If everyone makes this change or these critical changes and sacrifices now, we will rally together as one nation and we will defeat the virus.”
