Poll: Donald Trump Takes Double-Digit Lead Among California Republicans

Former President Donald Trump has taken a double-digit lead among California Republicans in the 2024 GOP primary race, a UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies survey found.

The most recent survey finds Trump taking a double-digit lead, besting his closest potential challenger — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis — by 18 points in the Golden State. Trump garners 44 percent support, while just over a quarter, 26 percent, support DeSantis.

Other declared candidates are considered in the survey as well, including former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, but no one in the poll — including those two — receives over four percent support besides Trump and DeSantis.

This survey represents a significant shift in favor of Trump since February. Three months ago, DeSantis held an eight-point lead among California Republicans, with 37 supporting the Florida governor and 29 percent supporting Trump.

In other words, DeSantis has experienced an 11-point drop over the last three months, and Trump has experienced a 15-point increase in that same time frame. In all, that reflects a 26-point swing in favor of the former president:

Feb 14-20
• DeSantis — 37% (+8)
• Trump — 29%

MAY 17-22
• Trump — 44% (+18)
• DeSantis — 26%

Mark DiCamillo, director of the survey, observed that Trump’s boost among California Republicans came during a prolonged bout of bad press about the former president, including an indictment as well as a sexual-abuse trial involving E. Jean Carroll.

As far as I know he’s still going with the “wonderful vaccine, developed in record time” approach.

All four of them?

Yea, I know.

Though, the areas outside of the coast and north of S.F. and Sacramento are still majority GOP.

I used to be one of them.

Glad my family and I got out of that Hell-Hole!

Interesting Trivia :

Trump got more votes in California in 2020 than he did in Texas.

You could look it up, as Yogi Berra used to say.

Biden easily carried California, but the point is, there are millions of outnumbered Republicans still in California.

“If Trump will just call NIH, CDC and FDA for deceiving him...”

I still don’t understand what the medical organization people did to deceive anyone. When Trump was in the White House the pharma people never said anything about the vaccines stopping the virus. They said it would make you feel better if you got it.

WHO - Getting vaccinated could save your life. COVID-19 vaccines provide strong protection against serious illness, hospitalization and death.

https://www.who.int/news-room/questions-and-answers/item/coronavirus-disease-(covid-19)-vaccines

CDC - Available evidence suggests the currently approved or authorized COVID-19 vaccines are highly effective against hospitalization and death for a variety of strains, including Alpha (B.1.1.7), Beta (B.1.351), Gamma (P.1), and Delta (B.1.617.2); data suggest lower effectiveness against confirmed infection and symptomatic disease caused by the Beta, Gamma, and Delta variants compared with the ancestral strain and Alpha variant. Ongoing monitoring of vaccine effectiveness against variants is needed.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/science/science-briefs/fully-vaccinated-people.html

NIH - To date, three vaccines against SARS-CoV-2—the virus that causes COVID-19—have received emergency authorization for use in the U.S. All showed excellent protection against severe or critical disease in the clinical trials that led to their approval.

https://www.nih.gov/news-events/nih-research-matters/single-shot-covid-19-vaccine-produces-immune-response-against-variants

All I could find is that it prevented serious conditions but did not prevent the disease. So if you had it, it wouldn’t be quite as bad.

Even Biden said it - But if you’re among the majority of Americans who are fully vaccinated, and especially if you’ve gotten the booster shot — that third shot — you’re much — you have much, much less reason to worry. You have a high degree of protection against severe illness.

Do you really think that it is a mark of a good leader to be that easily deceived?

Neville Chamberlain would like to know.

Was Chamberlain deceived, or did he just think Britain wasn’t ready at the time?

“...there are millions of outnumbered Republicans still in California.”

But they are forced to live in tents.

In October 2020, California had 22,047,448 registered voters, comprising 87.87% of its total eligible voters. Of those registered voters, 10,170,317 (46.10 percent) were registered Democrats, 5,334,323 (24.20 percent) were Republicans and, 5,283,853 were No Party Preference (24.00 percent). They just barely outnumber the independents. And whose to say their votes are even counted in California or not replaced by illegals.
