Dingell: I’m ‘Really’ ‘Annoyed’ by Cuts to IRS Staff in Debt Deal, But ‘There Is Nothing I Can Do About It’
Breitbart ^ | 05/28/2022 | Ian hatchett

Posted on 05/28/2023 11:47:26 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

On Sunday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Velshi,” Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) stated that she is “really” “annoyed” that there are cuts for new IRS workers in the debt ceiling agreement between President Joe Biden and House Speaker Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), but “there is nothing I can do about it,” people shouldn’t refuse to vote for the deal over it, and she doesn’t think the IRS provision is going to be “enough to make anybody vote against the bill.”

Dingell said that while she can’t say how she’ll vote on the deal until she actually sees the text of a bill, “I’ll tell you something that really has me annoyed — there is nothing I can do about it, it is not something that any of us should ever not…vote for this bill over — but the fact is that they cut back on money being invested in IRS workers. Those IRS workers were not going after everyday working men and women, they were going after the revenue. They were going after the billionaires and the corporations that need to pay their fair share. That has me annoyed.”

“His 2016 financial-disclosure report reveals he received $1.65 million in contingency fees last year from a Manhattan personal-injury firm, Godosky and Gentile, even though he left the firm in December 2012 after his election to the House.”

“His financial statement spells out a ‘termination of of counsel agreement’ with the firm that allows him to receive contingency fees in 10 cases that were ‘resolved favorably,’ resulting in settlements or verdicts.”

Waiting to see the whole thing come out because I don’t trust staffers either. Non discretionary spending is going down. Would I want more? Yes but that ia huge thing. Never would’ve happened if we hadn’t won those seats in NY. I’ll keep pushing the party right at the local level and I encourage others to as well. Go to county and precinct meetings

She was right to be annoyed about that.

If this gets even token support from the caucus, no more Republicans not never ever again for nothing. They can take the country to hell without my vote.

Vacate the chair right now, and put MTG in it tomorrow morning. Or has all the sound and fury from MTG lately been just a smokescreen for the deal that they knew was coming on the holiday weekend?

"BIDEN GOT 98% of the Huge IRS expansion money.

McCarthy 2%. Biden 98%."

That certainly is a better percentage than how Republican politicians did in 2020 (Sleepy Joe & Democrats/RINOs 100%, Republicans 0%). So, I'll take it, I'll take any improvement at all. But I obviously want a lot more in the future.

Will hapless Republican politicians ever deliver? I sure hope so.

It’s so over-the-top Crazy. If they wanted to be deceived and forget about math and market basics, they can’t even claim that. We are in the storm of Biden Spending theories right now.

Plenty of jobs in fast food and nursing homes though

Since biden was going to use irs operatives to go after his political enemies, a cutback is a good thing.

democrats want their personal army to control and hurt us. That is all the irs is. It is a weapon used by democrats to hurt their enemies.

In which alternate universe is a $78 billion increase in funding considered a cut?

Congressman Dinged, “They were going after the billionaires . . .”

There are an estimated 770 billionaires living in the United States today. Assume five agents to audit each billionaire the IRS needs only 3850 agents for billionaire policing. Let’s round it up to 4000 agents to be generous. If the cut is from 80,000 to 70,000, and only about 4000 are needed for billionaire auditing, what are the remaining 66,000 going to be doing?

Wish the GOP could pass a good bill that would be viable in a Congress loaded with uncompromising Leftist moonbats.

"McCarthy 2%. Biden 98% ."

I'm sure most of the gutless Republicans will vote for it. That vote the House took to hold Kevin's feet to the fire as Speaker, got burned up a long time ago. Where's the January 6th videos Kevin??

Republicans always roll over for Democrats whether they've got a large or a slim majority. They have no loyalty to the people who elect them. They're nothing but serial abusers. They use you to get elected, then throw you aside until the next election cycle rolls around. Then they come begging again for money and support.

I read that Republican Andy Biggs won’t vote for it. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s got her nose up her boyfriend Kevin’s ass so far, she’ll never find her way back out.
