As the world struggles to understand Vladimir Putin’s motivations in Ukraine, some critics have resorted to jibes about the Russian president’s height.
Britain’s Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has called him a “lunatic” with “small man syndrome”, while US Republican Senator Mitt Romney said he was a “small, evil, feral-eyed man”.
At an estimated 5ft 7in, Putin has been labelled as having “Napoleon complex”. But he is only half an inch shorter than the global mean height for adult men and - as The New European points out - is joined by a “new generation of short kings”.
Jeremy Clarkson suggested in The Times that the “real reason for the madness” apparently exhibited by Putin is simple: he is “not very tall”.
And “being not very tall seems to affect people”, Clarkson wrote. “Napoleon wasn’t very tall. Hitler wasn’t very tall. Mussolini wasn’t very tall… Their shortness eats into their very being and they become mad.”
Geography appears to be against Putin too. “The average height of Russian men is also 5ft 10in, which is presumably why Putin is so angry all the time,” Clarkson continued. “Because everyone he meets, all day and every day, is three inches taller than him.”

No, the Russians are doing exactly what the Nazis did in 1939 - there were ethic diasporas in another sovereign country, so they annexed those territories. Ergo, it’s the Russians who are the Nazis here. Try to keep up.
The similarities are,I think superficial, the Germans had never been sovereign over the Sudatenland. They had openly expressed an imperial, expansionist policy for years. Russia hasn’t done that since it ceased to be the USSR. The Germans were were openly expansionist before the invasion and they made no pretext that the Cheks were threatening them.
I am not necessarily justifying Russian actions. I am saying maybe they are not cardboard villains and we should take them at their word. They believed adding Ukraine to NATO was a threat. That Ukraine was dominated by neoNAZIs (Hint: it was) and that the Russian speaking minority in the Eastern Ukraine would welcome them.
And yes, the Ukraine is more corrupt than Russian and Putin is better than Biden on every issue and the US has become the Great Whore of Babylon and must not be supoorted.
Brian Kilmeade of Fox News is another guy suffering from short man syndrome. Always the aggressive little bantam cock. A warmonger, especially about the Ukraine/Russian (U.S. by proxy) war. Another short man with a giant ego and a Napoleonic complex
The truth, in a nutshell!
Regards,
Hitler had a moustache, and Putin does not, so any comparison of their penchant for invading peaceful neighboring countries and annexing vast swathes of their territory is fallacious!
Got it!
Seriously: No comparison is 100% accurate. No analogy is perfect. But it should be OBVIOUS to anyone with eyes to see that Russia is the aggressor here - not Ukraine.
Regards,
putin is a psychopath
Yep. They all are.
The various Germanic tribes were moving to-and-fro in Central Europe for millenia with all sorts of settlement areas. Don't limit your view to a few years in the 20th century. (Not to be taken as an endorsement of the invasion of an, at that point, sovereign state.)

That’s how tall he is with his special shoes that enable him to walk on his toes, giving him an extra 3-4” of height.
I’m 6’2” but I have to ask, if short a-holes are accused of having a Napoleon complex what do you call tall a-holes? DeGaulle complex? Peter the Great complex?
One even publicly shamed his golf ‘friend’ about his ‘shorter’ stature. Everyone around was embarrassed with his conduct.
And we have tall uncle that no one ever wanted around because of HIS nasty bullying personality.
But I'm no expert about that
This article is short on facts and and is more suited to midget minds.
Maybe those "tall" guys are "short" in, ahem, other departments.
Regards,
I’ll have to take your word for it 😁
