This is something else:
Two female runners competing in a state high school championship this weekend have come under attack because people believe they are transgender and therefore may have an unfair advantage. But the science is far from clear as to whether trans athletes are actually faster or stronger than their cisgender peers, experts say.
The evidence is especially murky for teen athletes, who may be going through puberty or taking drugs to suppress hormones — actions that could improve their performance or hinder it, or have very little impact at all.
As the global debate around transgender athletes’ participation in all levels of sport ramps up — particularly in the United States, which is enduring a wave of anti-trans legislation — a paucity of research on the subject makes it challenging to understand exactly what’s at stake, say experts in sports medicine and gender biology.

That’s a laughter of a headline, if I’ve ever seen one.
Any boy that went through puberty has a permanent advantage over any women forever more at the same age.
Once you accept that one’s sex is a personal choice, the issue of comparing the characteristics of the sexes becomes rather muddled. Pretty obvious.
Frankentrans are cut-and-paste humanoids.
Liars and morons all rolled into one.
Why? Don’t be a science denier. Not that you’re in that realm.
The answer is VERY SIMPLE. How obtuse do you have to be to NOT see this?
1. Boys pretending to be girls are beating girls everywhere in every sport.
2. Girls pretending to be boys don’t even bother to enter the boy’s contests.
Exactly. Their bones are already stronger. Their size is already bigger. Their physiology is different. Their brains are wired differently. The very nature of their muscles and the types of muscle fibers that make them up are different and that is never going to change.
Just refer to the golf course - aren’t the women’s tee-off spots a bit closer to the hole than the men’s? What was that all about, if not strength?
These people are just crazy, they will just bend reality to fit their world view. Be it killing unborn babies or men pretending to be women.
It is simple let the trans. Compete against each other
Irrelevant. “Trans women” do not exist. They are males and are not qualified to compete in female sporting events.
I refuse to give them ground. No such thing as trans. Impossible.
But the science is far from clear
I recall an unusual case a few years ago in Texas. There was a law that athletes had to compete within the gender, or sex into which they were born.
Well, there was a girl wrestler transitioning to become a boy who was taking testosterone, but the law allowed her to continue competing against girls. She was winning most all matches and her female opponents commented that they couldn’t believe how strong she was.
But as everyone knows, there is no great rush of females transitioning and demanding that they be allowed to compete against males.
This stands to reason.As is true of at least one Supreme Court judge,nobody at the SF Chronicle is a biologist and,therefore,cannot even identify or define a woman.
Why do men whom were middling athletes that pretend do be women beat the best women athletes in the world. There is no paucity of evidence. Research is not needed. Just find out who finishes first.
Last time I checked there were no women pretending to be men as linebackers in the NFL.
What an absolute disgusting joke. It is below and beyond pathetic.
It’s not difficult if you don’t have an aversion to the truth.
Ugliness and gracelessness — so typical of what happens when the left gets its way.
A graceful society wouldn’t get dragged into this garbage dump of an “issue” which the left has inflicted upon us with its trans craziness.
