A super PAC backing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' presidential run has raised $500,000 into a separate draft committee that is expected to be transferred directly to his campaign in the coming days
The group, "Never Back Down" has been encouraging donors to contribute online to the "Draft DeSantis 2024 Fund," a super PAC created in early March to house money from DeSantis donors until his campaign launch. Super PACs can raise unlimited funds, but they are generally considered expenditure-only, meaning they cannot contribute directly to a candidate.
Campaign finance experts called the move "unprecedented" and had mixed reactions on if it violated FEC regulations.The transfer of "hard" campaign dollars — money raised under federal fundraising limits — from a super PAC to a campaign has not ever been tried, largely because different laws govern the two types of fundraising entities.
Links shared by the DeSantis super PAC would redirect contributors to the draft committee's WinRed page to donate, under the condition the money would be going to an official DeSantis campaign after he launches.

Based on the FEC deadlock along party lines that occured with the byron donald's tactics used to illegally skirt FEC regulations and mccain-feingold, the desantis campaign is again hoping the FEC will deadlock again and not rule on the illegality of the fund raising or transfer.
What's happening is soft money can not be used in a federal level campaign, because it was raised without following FEC regulations and guidelines.
The desantis campaign is raising soft money, under the guise of an independant pac, then transfering it to the desantis campaign fund,, a federal level fund.
Because the desantis people claim the money raised was to a pac not connected to desantis, they claim the pac independantly is doing the transfer, so it is okay.
Because with the corrupt desantis, it's rules for the, not for me.....

And of course the desantis supporters will say this is completely okay because desantis is doing it.

DeSantis has a proven track record of repeated successes.
But, while the FEC, being split and voting along party lines, let donalds get away with a few $100k, what desantis is doing involves $85+ million with the money from friends of ron desantis pac, and now another $500k.
And if the republicans in the FEC deadlock again on party ines, expect the left to start using the same tactics, as soon as this coming general election.

You mean like the FEC split along party lines in May of 2022 when it was investigating Trump for campaign finance violations?
A potential violation, which is all CBS news has here against DeSantis, doesn’t mean squat. The FEC isn’t even involved.

Look deeper into that PAC and where it’s money is really coming from...

It helps to surround yourself with people who are competent, loyal, and see the same vision.
Yup, Trump has been investigated for taking advantage of similar loopholes in the laws.
The cultists praise Trump for his creativity while calling DeSantis “criminal”.
That is the clearest illustration of a cultist.
I think DeSantis has been handled with kid gloves so far.
If he does gain the nomination over Trump, the gloves will
come off and it’s going to be a field day for the Left.
No stone will remain unturned in the effort.
Don’t be surprised if women come forward detailing how he
wronged them in the past. I’m not accusing him of anything,
but did we really think they wouldn’t do it to him after
doing it to Trump for all these years.
This woman in the last round, proved absolutely nothing, but
Trump was convicted of some twisted fickle finger of fate
issue, and fined $500k even though he couldn’t be proven to
have done anything wrong.
You just can’t win that sort of charge, and the Left will
drum up all sorts of things against DeSantis.

I’m not personally convinced Ron is ready for the presidency.
It’s a lot different when you have the Legislative Branch
against you at the federal level. And then there’s the
DAs that could come nipping at your heels for decades to
come.
The idea of him being our nominee does trouble me.
What top level Executive experience did he have in his
private life? What dealings has he had negotiating with
foreign nation’s leadership?
Even the foreign nation’s leadership seemed to telegraph
they had little respect for him. I did only read that
from one or two nation during this tour, so that may not
be how all of them saw him.
Yes, desantis is probably surrounding himself with people as crooked, corrupt and deceptive as he is.
And all of them will want their share of the money that is going to be thrown at desantis' campaign, too.
