As a point of comparison, Trump brought in $9.5 million in small donor contributions - in the first 6 weeks of his campaign. From breaking Twitter due to interest in his announcement to setting a new record for donations in the first 24-hours, I'd say there is a fair amount of interest in the Desantis campaign...

Interesting they did not see how much Trump brought in in the first 24 hours. But I contributed to both in the first 24 hours, feel very happy with contributing even more to DeSantis.

Yes, it’s funny they talked about how much Trump took weeks to raise, Desantis did it in a day. Truly fantastic. Maybe there is hope for the Republicans in 2024.

desanti had lied about running for president, so desantis has been illegally campaign fund raising for his presidental run, since before he ran for re-election as governor.

He just told his donors to wait for the announcement, before donating so it would fake enthusiasm.

If he was actually that popular, why doesn't he have a live announcement party or fund raiser open to the general public, in florida?

DeSantis must have told Trump in private months ago. Obviously Trump failed to talk him out of it. I don’t know what his hurry was . He could have waited 4 years. Perhaps DeSantis believed our growing dictatorship had to be fought now or it would be too late to reverse it.

So, money from establishment donors is all matters to Ron. Is planning on keeping some of it once he loses?

There sure is. There are plenty of deep staters and their cronies who will do anything to keep Trump out of office and stop any nonsense like "America First".

IIRC, Yeb Bush started off his 2016 Campaign with a booming 100 Million war chest ponied up by GOPe and Globalist donors, over which the mainslime media swooned. (And that WAS a hefty sum at that time). Yeb went through that money like Bleep throuh the proverbial goose, but it never had a prayer against DJT’s appeal to the Real American Voters. It will be ineresting to see how much clout the DS, the WEF types, et al’s million$ have with today’s Real American Voters.

Interest in DeSantis, of course, from big money donors. Not from the rank-and-file.

Jeb raised more money than Trump did to from the donor class but it didn't make a bit of difference.

Hillary raised a lot of money, as I recall. It was a lot more than what Trump raised.

In current climate he needs this trend to continue until he has $100 million in the bank within a month. If not, forget it.

Yea that narrative isn’t going away. Maybe they can sick the DOJ on him and he’ll have to spend that money on lawyer fees. That’s what the country is now

The Fox News evening line up has been running very sharp edged anti-DeSantis ads for the last month.

All of the ads are paid for by political front organizations that I have never heard of before.

The one I saw this evening was purchased by Make America Great something or other.

DeSantis hit Trump with a solid counter punch today when he accused Trump of turning over the entire federal government to Fauci in March 2020.

My strongest criticism of Trump during his four years in office was that he needed to read - and internalize - everything that was written or said about Covid, set his own policies, and take the leadership on every politically related issue.

PS Twitter is always broken. Always buffering like it is 1999. DeSantis and his staffers should have know better and shouldn't have trusted Elon Musk.

Ever since DeSantis went national, he has made one blunder after another.

Weak response to the Mara Lago raid. Then to backfill he claimed he would ignore an extradition request (would have been fun to call that bluff)

Blunder on the NY Stormy Daniels indictment, by subject-checking “pornstar” to try to puff himself up, instead of focus on the legal abuse.

Ridiculous launch. Instead of just doing a speech in front of a big, cheering crowd.

(Not to mention the bizarre Eighth Day of Creation Ad. With DeSantis we were supposed to go back to Bush/Romney. Instead we get David Koresh)

DeSantis has the donor class behind him, no doubt.

What he does not have are the voters.
