MO police chief said the law is outside the department's jurisdiction due to not pertaining to criminal conduct.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey on Wednesday vowed to take "any legal action necessary" against Kansas City if its police department does not enforce a law banning transgender transition procedures for minors.

Bailey, a Republican, said in a letter to the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners that the board has a constitutional duty to enforce the law, which was passed by the Missouri Legislature this month. Republican Gov. Mike Parson has not yet signed the bill but is expected to do so.

The letter comes after the Kansas City Council on May 11 approved a resolution designating the city as an LGBTQ+ sanctuary city. The resolution said the city will not prosecute or fine any person or organization that seeks, provides, receives or helps someone receive gender-affirming care such as as puberty blockers, hormones or surgery

Well hysterical leftists giving the finger to a duly passed law, again.

Good for the MO AG though standing up for the law.

Just go after the doctors like they did for the doctors who prescribed HCQ and Ivermectin during Covid.
What justifies one and not the other, really?
Surgery is a lot riskier than Ivermectin any day.

Time to start jailing these recalcitrant politicians and government workers until they understand that their actions will not be tolerated by law abiding citizens.

If that won’t do the trick, there is only one option left, and we are all trying to do everything we can to avoid it.

She’s white and married to another KC Police officer. My niece is a KC cop and really likes her (my niece is conservative). At least she did a few months ago.

Arrest anyone in violation. Missouri Highway Patrol Troop A located in Lee’s Summit (Kansas City) would seem to have jurisdiction. It’s the state wide police force.

The Kansas City Police Department was made independent of City politics 70 years ago when it had its governing board moved over to state appointment and control. This was In the wake of the machine politics of the Pendergast era.
