Former President Trump says “even” former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) handled the coronavirus pandemic better than Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), his latest attack the day after DeSantis officially joined the 2024 GOP presidential primary.
Trump said in a video from his campaign on Thursday that Florida had among the highest number of deaths from COVID-19 in the country and shut down numerous public locations at the onset of the pandemic, including beaches. “How about the fact that he had the third-most deaths of any state… Even Cuomo did better. He was No. 4,” Trump said.
Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed that Florida had the third-highest number of COVID-19-related deaths in 2021, while New York had the fourth-most. But the data also shows Florida had the 18th-highest death rate per 100,000 residents that year.

Is Cuomo challenging Trump for the Republican nomination? No. Therefore, Cuomo CAN’T be as bad as DeSantis. Soon we’ll find out that DeSantis’ father assassinated JFK and that DeSantis’ wife is ugly.

Well WV, MS, TN & AL probably have a large percentage of overweight population. Perhaps even elderly, can’t speak for the others but WV also has a diabetes problem and significant numbers of smokers. All contributors to COVID mortality.

Nope. Has he appointed/hired awful people showing a lack of judgement? Nope.
OMG... Trump is losing it. Cuomo was responsible for the COVID deaths of hundreds, maybe thousands of elderly people, mostly in NY nursing homes.
You got facts to back that up?
I'm a Trump supporter, but I think it's becoming a liability. It worked well in 2016, but 2024 is an entirely different animal. His comments are turning off a LOT of current and now former Trump supporters.
I also highly doubt those 'coveted' independent / undecided voters like Trump's childish comments, but that remains to be seen.
