Ending months of speculation, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis declared his presidential candidacy Wednesday, setting up a seismic clash with former President Donald Trump for GOP supremacy.

A more formal announcement is expected to follow at 6pm, when DeSantis is appearing in a Twitter Space with Elon Musk.

I will never be for another Karl Rove manufactured candidate, especially one like Ron who’s backed by the Bush/Cheney clan. I think anyone here who supports Ron is still ignorant or in denial of the Rove/Bush connection at the moment.
And you will want an 80 year old Trump to run in 2028, even if he is term limited.
Musk is at least quick to acknowledge a mistake but hadn’t talked much about DeSantis lately so I was also kind of surprised at that. But then again he turned against Trump due to his age...so we will see how long this all holds together.

DeSantis never said he wasn’t running against Trump, so whoever told you that is the liar. If he had said he wasn’t running, Trump would be constantly crying “but you promised you wouldn’t run” over and over.
