These are fighting words!

PMC Wagner Group - The Best Army in the World?

"Now, I can say this from my own experience. We’ve fought in many places and we’ve fought against many people. We know how the Americans fight. We know how the French fight. We know how the useless, cowardly UN troops and missions… pic.twitter.com/SBKHbX2Yzw— James Porrazzo (@JamesPorrazzo) May 24, 2023

Meanwhile the troglodytes in the Deep State sit back and laugh.

"Most of the Russian army has not suffered in this conflict," Cavoli said

Obviously another "Putin puffer".

The problem for the Russian military is they are fighting a "cabinet war", or a war of choice, while the Ukrainians are fighting a war of survival, or existential war, where they have no choice.

It is the same dynamic seen in Afghanistan.

People are much more willing to sacrifice and die for their homes and families than for an abstract empire.

How many casualties there are on each side are highly guarded secrets, by both parties.

Both will attempt to inflate the other's casualties and minimize their own casualties.

If you call billions of dollars in kickbacks "nothing".

” In early May, during a speech to Congress, General Christopher Cavoli, the commander of American troops in Europe and the military head of NATO, tempered the ardor of an official who spoke approvingly about the latest assessment of Russian losses made by the Pentagon. “Most of the Russian army has not suffered in this conflict,” Cavoli said.”

The Money Shot.

Their comments are intresting:
But the question remains: what to do then?

bmeye1 Who will put an end to this meat grinder?

We are missing a great statesman with an associate like de Villepin (Dominique de Villepin, former Prime Minister of France, who held office from 2005 to 2007, during the presidency of Jacques Chirac. — Approx. InoSMI), who could agree on the status quo from the very beginning. Instead of such a politician, we have only a capricious teenager who staged a show by telling about his private conversation with Putin — and this show failed!

steph1 What do we see?

The people who are dragging us into this conflict have neither culture, nor historical, nor geopolitical knowledge, although it would be necessary to strengthen NATO and prepare for future clashes. We are dissipating our own forces and exhausting ourselves with this conflict in Europe. I got the impression that I live in Byzantium, which is having fun with wars with its vassals when the Turks approach its borders.

steph1 It is up to the men and women who stand in the shadows to put an end to this carnage by diplomatic means.

I am not a supporter of Munich (most likely, the author is referring to the Munich Agreement of 1938, according to which the Western powers gave Czechoslovakia to Nazi Germany. — Approx. InoSMI), and I am ready to do my duty, but Putin is not Hitler. If the conflict expands, Europe will be in ruins. It will face an Asia that is superior to it from an economic and military point of view, a reborn Europe and an overpopulated Africa that will simply confuse us with itself.

Your argument (or really, just your hopes) rest on this false statement

Your hopes rest on the belief the statement is false.

A serious problem with your belief is virtually everyone, including the Russians, were surprised by the depth of Ukrainian resistance to the Russian invasion.

But it is really not the same existential war because the Russians and Ukrainians were the same shared country for three generations and have had the same heritage for a thousand years.   Certainly they have mixed allegiance among individuals and within families.

I have lived next door to a Russian family from Moscow for over twenty years, until this conflict started, upon which Galena told us she was Ukrainian and was very proud Zelensky was Jewish.

It reminds me of our War Between the States which has always been known of a war of Brothers against Brothers.

Ukrainian Partisans deny it but it is clear to see for those who want no part of this insanity.   Biden's Munchausen by proxy must be stopped.

If I was a Ukrainian and did not want to fight in that war, I would join the French Foreign Legion. That way you get to stay away for three/four years and get a new ID and citizenship.

You are affirming the consequent. You originally said Russia is waging a war of choice. That is not true - they see it as "existential" as well. It has nothing to do with Ukraine putting up a stiff resistance or not.

The fact that Ukraine raised its conscription age from 45 to 60 and are grabbing teenagers of 16 & 17 off the street pretty much tells you all you need to know.

Putin has tried to sell it that way. He has clearly been attempting to re-create the Russian Empire.

For that matter, it is a very common, almost universal method of validating wars. But Russia has not been invaded (excepting the recent border incursion). It is all very theoretical for Russia, but very real for Ukrainians.

LOL! It’s published in a Russian website, so it has to be true! Problem is: I can’t find anything anywhere else that suggests these words were ever spoken. So was this uncredited source at the Congress to record them uniquely? Or did someone leak some closed-door hearing to him?
