House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said Thursday that President Joe Biden would be responsible for “any default” on the nation’s $31.3 trillion debt after he “ignored this debt crisis for more than 100 days.”

AP-NORC poll (5/11-15/2023):
A whopping 63 percent of Americans want a debt ceiling deal that includes measures to decrease the federal deficit. That compares to just 19 percent who want a debt ceiling increase to be passed without any conditions.
Overwhelmingly, Americans don’t want a dirty debt ceiling bill, which would be one without conditions.
McCarthy should be out there every day highlighting every scandal in this admin. Talk about the 87,000 IRS agents that are coming for the middle class.
Guy is less in the public eye than FJB.

McCarthy can say that if we had a default it would be a Biden default. And while there would be truth to that, unfortunately, any default is going to get blamed on Republicans.
The “Biden Default” should be the label.
The “Schumer Shutdown” was effective which is why the Dems ended up balking to get that slogan out of the narrative.
I suggest audit SS and strip it or it’s soush for being. Especially because trump plans to pay people to have children instead of fixing the problem. His big gov big pharma spendathon must end also.

It’s quite possible the Democrats want a default that they and their media can and will blame on Republicans.
We’re practically in a recession already and it’s only getting worse with the fascist policies of this administration.
This coming default will be the scapegoat, so to speak, for their failed policies.
No such thing. The government takes in more than enough each month to cover the interest on the debt and all of the important things. Just not the liberal shit. Scare tactics.
Debt Ceiling should be frozen and then reduced annually by 1%.
