“DeSantis is a strategic idiot. He could have backed Trump, remained Gov for 4 more years and then become the heir-apparent after Trump leaves office. This way, he’ll lose fair and square, and will always be looked at as a loser that chased his own political aspirations at the expense of his constituents in Florida.”

It didn’t hurt Reagan one bit to run against Ford in the 1976 primary. It gave him national exposure and set the stage for his victory in 1980 .

One can only surmise from the constant attacks on DeSantis from Trump supporters here is that they greatly fear DeSantis defeating Trump in the upcoming primary. Otherwise, they’d pay him no attention.

What’s funny is the crazies were never going to support DeSantis in 2028, either.

DeSantis had been more effective than either Reagan or Trump. Neither of those got laws banning the Chinese from owning property, banning DEI and a 6 week abortion ban. Reagan signed the most liberal abortion law in the US while governor of California. Neither Reagan nor Trump had the balls to take on corporate perverts and bloodsuckers like Disney.

You’re using Real Raw News as a source?

The site that reports that “Star Trek: Voyager Actor Tim Russ is Barack Obama Body Double”?

And that Liz Cheney, Lori Lightfoot have been hanged?

And that body doubles and clones have taken their place?

That Real Raw News?

The swamp and GOPe rinos have colluded and cooperated with the left in many states, like wisconsin, georgia, pennsylvania, and arizona to get rid of Trump in the 2020 election.

They have also worked to oppose Trump throughout his presidency, to their, and their donor's benefit, otherwise the border wall would have been completed, etc.

So, if desantis gets the republican primary because the swamp and GOPe rinos work with the left to take Trump out, why would you support desantis?

Let the GOP party die, because they're only furthering the lefist uniparty and their own pockets.

And there's this: Trump is best when he's funny, but for the true comedic timing to flower, he needs a foil.

Ron is going to be a great foil. And the experience dealing with Trump will be good for him in future contests. It's going to be a blast!

Ron DeSantis is a little man who needs to be canceled to make way for the next contender to be canceled.

One at a time is the TRUMP way.

At this point, 2024 is all about electability. Trump lost numerous swing states in 2020 (PA,MI,WI,AZ,GA,NV). Trumpsters are adamant those losses were 100% due to voter fraud in each of those states. Even if that were the case, the same powers will still be in control of the voting apparatus in all those states in 2024 (with the possible exception of Nevada). It is true that GA is controlled by a Republican governor, but Trump unsuccessfully tried to defeat him in 2022 (so not much help there).

This being the case, there is little to no prospect that these states would flip to Trump in 2024. Along the way, Trump is routinely alienating much of the electorate that would normally be a part of a winning GOP coalition. Even the RCP polling averages show Trump with 42 - 44% of the general election vote. While this shows that Trump has a loyal following, that alone is insufficient to achieve an electoral victory.

The swing states would definitely be in play for a candidate like DeSantis. He could attract moderate / independent voters to come aboard, and thus overcome the voting apparatus of the Democrat inner city operations.

As an example, Trump carried Florida by 3% in 2020. DeSantis carried it by 19% in 2022. This shows DeSantis was able to combine Trump supporters with many moderates and independents. Glenn Youngkin did the same thing in Virginia in 2021. He has gone on to govern as a conservative, just as DeSantis has.

I realize by posting this observation, Trump’s followers will go apoplectic and resort to typical name calling.

That’s ok. But that doesn’t detract from the sound logic behind the message.

You left out DeSantis’ record.

I voted for Trump and will do so again if he’s the nominee, but even he can’t touch DeSantis’ conservative record.

Who defended InBev? Who embraces sexual deviance? Who supported the idea of banning “assault weapons”?

Who took on the ESG agenda? Who took on Disney? Who directly challenged CRT?

I’m just referring to the last 5 Presidential Administrations pre and post Trump

Lots of Rs and D’s in there and they were all on one side..

The side that was swamp first and not America First..

A former democrat billionaire embarrassed the R team as much as the D team with just how much can get accomplished with a President that isn’t a traitor..

So, another desantis supporter.... with magical thinking.

Yep, talks about how Trump and supporters say Trump lost due to election fraud, and wouldn't have a chance in 2024....

Then says desantis wouldn't have these problems from election fraud....

Sure.... the left would just abandon using election to win the 2024 election,.... because it's the great and wonderful desantis!

lol

You missed the point. Yes, fraud would continue. But DeSantis could bring in enough suburban and independent voters (who abandoned Trump in 2020) to overcome the fraud machines.

I’d have respected DeSantis if he’d waited ‘til 2028. Right now all he can do is damage. To himself and the GOP chances.

Waiter! Bring me a second helping of Trump!
