Seriously argued theories fingering every party to the Ukraine War for the Nord Stream blast have been made since underwater explosive charges took out the key route for importing natural gas from Russia to Europe last year. Yet according to a new report published by a group of European broadcasters and publications, Germany’s FBI-equivalent the Federal Criminal Police Office (Bundeskriminalamt, BKA) is now looking into leads that implicate Ukraine.
In a summary of the claims made by outlets including Germany’s Süddeutsche Zeitung, Sweden’s Expressen, and Denmarks Berlingske published by German broadcaster Tagesschau it is reported a yacht rented from a Baltic port at the time of the blasts which was subsequently discovered to have explosives residue onboard is being considered in investigations.
While the reports cite anonymous sources, the Tagesschau report emphasises authorities in Germany, Denmark, and Sweden — the governments leading on the Nord Stream blast investigations — and Ukraine has not commented on these claims publicly.

This was relatively shallow water. It wouldn’t have been hard for any state actor, or really any multinational company. Heck, Green Peace could do this.

I don’t doubt for a second that the USA planned it, got the Ukrainians there, and then the Ukrainians did it.

As I rapidly near retirement (and not caring and being outside of the time limit of certain written agreements) can readily state I may or may not have bombed targets selected by America, but which my country certainly agrees needs bombing.

It’s important to DC that everything look like it is an organic Uke operation. Silly and nobody believes it, but that’s what it is. Kerch Bridge was a British planned and sponsored op. So were the drone boat attacks and the sinking of that warship. US targeting, Brit sheep dip operators firing Brit harpoons. And of course, the border incursion into Russia yesterday.

It was essential for western plans to take the option for Russian gas off the German/EU table. As political support for sanctions would quickly erode, it had to be done quickly.
The Ukrainian special forces are impressive guys, especially their frogs. They are not drunks.
Pound for pound, the only groups that are comparable are the Brits and us Israelis. Japan and Korea are the others, but it wasn’t them.

All these ‘investigations’ cost money. Unless something actionable comes out of it and one follows-up with prosecution then it’s not worth the effort. Too often they’re just made to influence bystanders, most of whom don’t give a shit either way.
Those that call for investigations are showing they’re doing their best which ends up being not enough.

Hell, as they were building the final sections of the pipeline there, Poland had it’s navy harassing the ship laying the line, trying to force it to move to avoid collisions.
The blast was the day after a Norway to Poland gas line opened.
Biden and Nuland said they would do it and not so coyly bragged afterwards about doing it.
Surrounded by Denmark, Germany, Poland, Sweden and Norway, in one of the most heavily surveilled areas on earth but nobody saw a thing.
