Ron “Ted Cruz” DeSantis. He’ll poll in the teens, maybe 20s and done.

He won’t even best Trump in his home state of Florida.

Stay on the bench Ron. You don’t want or need any part of this. Yet.

This is the swamp pushing a conservative in front of the trump train and the only trumpers opening the throttle up.

The screaming and shaking we will hear tomorrow from the direction of New York will be the orgasmic reaction from Fox News.

As much as I am not sold on DeSantis, I am hoping he gives Trump a run for his money. We absolutely NEED a competitive primary season.

Trump WILL NOT win the general. That's locked in, anyone who can't see it is in denial.

We need the competition to produce the best winning candidate possible.

I believe you’re right - Casey considers herself Jackie O, only better.

Karl Rove, Paul Ryan, and the Bushies have been giving DeSantis horrible advice.

He should wait until 2028, and get bona-fide conservative advisors.

Dems hope the end result is Trump wins which means Joe wins reelection and DeSantis is taken off the table as a threat to their dominance

If the elections are not rigged, I don’t see how Trump loses. If Trump, who has already proven himself to be good for the country, loses in honest elections, the country deserves whatever it gets.

He has done a great job as governor. I don’t know who convinced him to run right now, but it will be an uphill battle for sure. He could have solidified his superstar status amongst conservatives, but I don’t think he will survive the primary battle unscathed. He should have waited, but sometimes timing is difficult to see in the middle of the battle and when you are being pushed by the loudest voices around you. If he thinks he can beat Biden right now, he is probably wrong. I like him. I like his policies. He seems competent and genuinely conservative. I just don’t see this ending well.

So he’s really going to do it.

Never needed more solidarity than after the steal and he does this.

I’m a Trump supporter and DeSantis is my Governor but using a picture of Jeb at the inauguration is just dumb. Jeb was at DeSantis inauguration because he’s a living former Governor of Florida. That’s like using old pictures of Trump and Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton or the Clinton’s to infer something. I’ll vote for DJT in the Florida primary, but some of this stuff from Trump and folks here is ridiculous.

Live by the polls, die by the polls.

Lots of bold predictions here when we are 8 months away from the Iowa Caucuses.

I remember Hillary and Giuliani having things sewn up at this point......

I believe that you express the opinion of many fine folks hereabouts.

And respectfully, I don't agree.

For one thing, the electorate has changed. Many new (and low info) voters added to the rolls, and many of my vintage sadly have "gone west".

Trump has not helped himself, with childish internecine insults and name-calling, foolish statements such as he can end the Ukraine war in 24 hours, and apparently a refusal to participate in primary debates. He has an extraordinary talent for making political enemies from those whose support he critically needs.

I know GOPers who literally hate him as he just can't think before acting or speaking, and it's not within him to act diplomatically or presidential.

Trump has some achievements to report, but those only go so far with the low info voters. The Dems are experts at arguing off the point. Recall how Biden stressed unity?

If Trump gets the nom, and he very well might, I'll wager that the Dems and their allies do perpetual, non-stop references to "porn star hush money", "indicted", and other persuasive distractions from important (to you and I) issues such as economy, debt, China, borders and so forth.

I don't see how Trump wins the general, and it's mostly Trump's doing.
