As has been long predicted, the first of many hit pieces on Casey DeSantis, the wife of Ron DeSantis, has dropped. Politico did the honors on Friday, attacking the recent cancer survivor as too involved in her husband’s life, citing numerous anonymous sources and some non-anonymous ones who really should have been.
The big bombshell in the story can be summarized as follows: Ron and Casey DeSantis have a good marriage, and they also support each other in their endeavors.
I know, it’s shocking stuff, but Politico did its level best to try to turn Casey DeSantis into an ominous figure. I guess you have to give them credit for the effort, I guess.
For some time now she’s been seen mostly and by many as an absolute superstar of a political spouse, a not so “secret weapon,” even something like his saving grace — an antidote for her sometimes awkward husband, social in a way that he is not, charismatic in a way that he is not, generally and seemingly at ease in the spotlight in a way that he so often and so evidently is not. A telegenic former television personality, a breast cancer survivor and a mother of three young kids, Casey, 42, has a sort of policy portfolio of her own that ranges from hurricane recovery to issues of mental health.

Trump must realize that when Casey DeSantis is seen at events she reminds people of a devoted wife with a wholesome family life and faithful husband. Her presence on the campaign trail will start to remind voters of Trump's philandering. The press will not be able to resist reminding the electorate that Melania is DJT's 3rd wife.

Good test for him. Hopefully he can handle it because he's our best shot at the White House in 2024. If he fumbles, we'll have to go with a Trump and the Left will use the same playbook in 2020 to crush Trump in 2024.
It is good that the hits are coming early. If the best hits that can be found can’t hurt DeSantis, there is nothing the media can do to stop him. That’s a good thing in my books.

Anything you can lay on Trump is going to be very small potatoes compared to what the NYT, PBS, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, API, WaPo, etc., etc., etc., will lay on DeSantis, his friends, associates, and family.
If the DeSantis clan can’t handle a little heat they’re going to be destroyed by the Democrat machine’s flamethrowers and napalm bombs.

Trump got away with sliming Heidi Cruz and her children because the press was wanting Trump to win the nomination thinking he was absolutely sure to lose. You can also add the slander of Raphael Cruz, Ted’s father, to the slime that DJT used in 2016 and the press basically ignored.
And yet the polling shows the opposite.
And the gay assault charges haven't come out yet...
I will wait to hold judgment on Casey DeSantis. I know nothing about her other than she is dealing with cancer, something that afflicts almost every family one way or another these days.I will speak my mind below.
I am very glad that Florida has Ron DeSantis as a governor instead of that Gillum POS. I am from Florida, and most of my family is still there. I pay attention to things that happen to my family, and the state where I was born and raised. I am proud to be a native Floridian. These days there aren’t a ton of us, and I suspect that there’s a contingent of us who want nothing more than the state to succeed, even though we don’t live there anymore. My family often tells me than I’m more attuned to being a Southerner than those who never left. (Where I grew up, in N. Florida, we consider ourselves true Southerners. From central Florida and down to the Keys, it ain’t necessarily Southern.
Is DeSantis ready for the presidency? I don’t know. He feels more like every other R candidate at that level at the moment, to me. Who is bankrolling his candidacy? Is it full of Bush types, or is it full of grassroots folks? If it’s people like the Bushes, then RDS is bought and paid for. And he may well be that.
Over the course of my life, I’ve watched Republican candidate after candidate talk a nice game, get elected, and then kowtow to the Left. I’m super-sick of that c**p. Super sick.
I hope Governor DeSantis isn’t that, but for me, he appears to be just that usual POS. He’s trying too hard.
If you are on his team, convince me to ignore the red flags that I see.
Rove works for Trump. He was one of his campaign managers in 2020.
Have you ever noticed that Trump supporters trash the media if he is criticized, but if the media attacks a conservative, they are 100% accurate and should be supported?
Oh, wait, the left and right media in our country won't let us talk about or know those things. I wonder why?
